What about the great majority of us?
Regarding SHTF scenarios, seems to me that most advice applies to those living in the rural environment. Seems to be little advice offered to those of us who find ourselves living as the racial minority in urban areas, other than "get out of there."
Unfortunately, fleeing before the hammer drops is not so easy for many/most. Imagine the plight of the individual living in a 200-unit apartment complex when things come grinding to a halt. What to do? I was listening to an "expert" speak on the subject. He claimed that a person has 72 hours to make a decision to fight or flee, claimed that once the 72 hours had passed it would no longer be possible to escape. Kinda sobering when contemplating millions of White folk "trapped" in inner cities throughout America should everything go kaput. |

Where ever you go, people will be waiting and uncharmed by your arrival.
Good luck. |

Just stay calm, stop and think before you do anything at all. It's often best to do nothing at first, just sit and think things through for a while. The vast majority of injuries/deaths in emergencies are caused by panic, and overreaction. This sub-forum is not just for Armageddon, but for campers, fishermen, hikers and just people who enjoy the outdoors. In a city breakdown, there won't be water, food etc. You will need to have stored it beforehand, or you will not get any. Fleeing isn't an option in the cities really. Look towards CERT in your area rather, so that if emergencies do happen, your suburb/area doesn't collapse. Most essential in cities is that you become part of a CERT, or a volunteer fireman, EMT or deputy, and belong to a mainstream political party. Rotary are often deeply involved with such things. These people and their families are the ones that get advance warning, and the best care. Above all things, learn first aid. You will also know what to do, already be part of a massive network of competent people, with access to equipment etc, and be surrounded by the people most likely to survive. In the cities, its the groups that survive, not loners/couples. Most people don't die from violence but from famine, dehydration and disease. Ensure you take care of these areas, and your chances of survival are good. If anything goes wrong in your building, it's likely to be electrical fires/power outages and power surges. There are several threads that cover this in great detail Local activities http://vnnforum.com/showthread.php?t=146273 Home security http://vnnforum.com/showthread.php?t=150210 Personal Defence http://vnnforum.com/showthread.php?t=150213 Where to relocate to http://vnnforum.com/showthread.php?t=150226 Buy several months supplies of the same food you eat now, and store several weeks water. Be able to survive inside your apartment without leaving it for several weeks.
