Default 70th anniversary of the Roswell Incident

I can't say if what happened near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947 was the crash of an alien spacecraft with dead ETs recovered by the US military or just a downed weather balloon like the official government story. But interest and conspiracy theories persist to this day, so...

No Congressman, There's No Evidence of an Ancient Mars Civilization

Quote:
In case you've been wondering, there's no evidence that Mars hosted an alien civilization thousands of years ago.

Nonetheless, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., asked a panel of planetary scientists to speculate about this possibility today (July 18), during a hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Science, Space and Technology's Space Subcommittee.

The inquiry followed testimony by panelist Ken Farley, the project scientist for NASA's Mars 2020 rover mission, stating that the Red Planet had lakes and rivers, and perhaps even a huge northern ocean, until about 3.6 billion years ago. So it fell to Farley to answer the question of whether Mars was perhaps once home to intelligent aliens.

"So, the evidence is that Mars was different billions of years ago, not thousands of years ago, and there is no evidence I'm aware of that--" Farley began.

"Would you rule that out?" Rohrabacher interjected.

"I would say that is extremely unlikely," Farley responded.

The belief that intelligent aliens may call Mars home has a rich and eventful history. For example, more than a century ago, American astronomer Percival Lowell claimed to have spotted canals on Mars, which he hypothesized had been built to bring water from the planet's polar ice caps down to the midlatitudes. And in 1976, photos by NASA's Viking 1 Mars orbiter showed a landform that bore a striking resemblance to a human face. Though clearer imagery by later spacecraft revealed the "Face on Mars" to be an ordinary rock formation, some people still claim that it's evidence of an ancient civilization.

Many orbiters, landers and rovers have explored Mars over the decades, and none have detected any evidence intelligent organisms ever arose there. But that doesn't necessarily mean the Red Planet has never supported life of any kind.

Theoretically Mankind has already sent a probe into "Deep Space".... The Voyager series space probes are now thought to be in the heilopause, the area in space where the solar wind from Sol gives way to interstellar wind.

https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/spacecraft/index.html

Both Voyagers are headed towards the outer boundary of the solar system in search of the heliopause, the region where the Sun's influence wanes and the beginning of interstellar space can be sensed. The heliopause has never been reached by any spacecraft; the Voyagers may be the first to pass through this region, which is thought to exist somewhere from 8 to 14 billion miles from the Sun. This is where the million-mile-per-hour solar winds slows to about 250,000 miles per hour—the first indication that the wind is nearing the heliopause. The Voyagers should cross the heliopause 10 to 20 years after reaching the termination shock. The Voyagers have enough electrical power and thruster fuel to operate at least until 2020. By that time, Voyager 1 will be 13.8 billion miles (22.1 billion KM) from the Sun and Voyager 2 will be 11.4 billion miles (18.4 billion KM) away. Eventually, the Voyagers will pass other stars. In about 40,000 years, Voyager 1 will drift within 1.6 light-years (9.3 trillion miles) of AC+79 3888, a star in the constellation of Camelopardalis which is heading toward the constellation Ophiuchus. In about 40,000 years, Voyager 2 will pass 1.7 light-years (9.7 trillion miles) from the star Ross 248 and in about 296,000 years, it will pass 4.3 light-years (25 trillion miles) from Sirius, the brightest star in the sky . The Voyagers are destined—perhaps eternally—to wander the Milky Way.

The simple fact is that you could not really create a more hostile environment to carbon/ biology based lifeforms than interstellar space. The fact is the Human Race is, on a cosmic scale, are relative newborn infants. The fact is if Aliens visited the Human Race just 500 years, 1,000 years or 10,000 years ago, they would be considered Gods.

Much of that has to do with the systematic ignorance that the catholic church persecuted the converted Germanic tribes with. This systematically repressed human advancement by 2,000 years.

In fact, when Whites took over South Pacific islands in WW2 to build airstrips in the remote pacific, many primitive Negro cultures where abandoned and a new, entire religion was formed around the "White Gods" who arrived in shiny metal birds and gave them magical stuff like food in cans that never went bad, and steel machetes that were magically sharp, better than crude rocks.

There are several provocative plots of Aliens reaching Earth....

They already have in the ancient past, did not find anything here but semi intelligent apes, and theoretically, modified the genetic structure of those hominids to make arise the first fully sentient species to exist in 4.5 billion years. One of the first literate cultures, the Sumerians, called them Anunaki. It seems strange that over all that time, no species arose with advanced intelligence until just a eye blink of time around 12,000 years ago, when what could be considered humans capable of advanced civilization arose, supposedly uncommunicative globally, different cultures all over the planet at roughly the same time frame arose.

Humans, until just a few hundred years ago, would have considered any Alien to be Gods, Angels, Or demons, simply because of the simplistic level of Ignorance organized Judaic religions had imposed on the vast majority of Earths Human inhabitants, up to the point and advent of peer reviewed scientific fact.

Any species of Alien advanced enough to travel interstellar space would have a massive advantage of extremely refined technology. They may have evolved past the level to need to use violence, but at a look at what happens to "Lower food chain" lifeforms on Earth, we may be lucky they haven't showed up.

The Milky Way Galaxy may be teeming with thousands of Alien Civilizations, but no matter the advanced tech of any of them, Interstellar travel is still impossible but for a few, and it still takes
many
thousands of years for them to make a "Round Trip", or it it is simply impossible for any lifeforms, and will always be.

Or, we have not existed long enough in a galactic time frame to be contacted to any beneficial degree because of low level intelligence, with Aliens who found trying to communicate with our proto human ancestors, would be like humans trying to communicate with termites.

It is highly unlikely that any world exists that duplicates Earth to where humans could land, breathe the atmosphere, drink the water, and not be subject to the huge biological risks of not evolving on that planet.

At any case, I highly doubt anyone alive today will see interstellar travel or Aliens arriving!

To make those trips seems to require unbelievable levels of energy, it seems you would have to master both time and space.

It would be of great and dire consequences if the Government had to admit it withheld the proof positive of other intelligent life had indeed made contact on Earth.

On one note all Earth Religions would be rendered Obsolete if they said "Ya, we made you from apes 100,000 years ago, we came back today to see how our children are".

No doubt I would ask this, What would people on this forum ask Aliens if they were granted one question to pose to a species that had possibly traveled to hundreds of worlds?

I am gigantically in favor of manned space travel. However until there is some true breakthrough in technology, interstellar is just a dream. Pioneer is headed toward the star Aldebaran. If nothing goes wrong it will approach Aldebaran in about 2 million years.

Voyager is on the fast track. It is about 11.7 billion miles from Earth. The nearest star is about 27 trillion miles from earth. Voyager is not headed there, it is headed, roughly, toward a star called AC +79 3888, about 17.6 light years from earth. It will only approach about 1.7 light years, but it will be there in a snap, about 68,000 years.

Both Pioneers, and both Voyagers are essentially still in our neighborhood. The edge of our solar system is a debatable subject. Astronomers and Astrophysicists argue, but the Pioneers and Voyagers won't be displaying their graphics to anyone for many thousands or even millions of years.

That is unless the aliens come here. And I hope they do.

The Pioneers, Voyagers and New Horizons will probably be found by humans before any aliens. It's doubtful Pioneer 10 will be blown up by the Klingons for target practice.

This past August 20 marks 40 years since the launch of Voyager 2. Due to trajectory planning, Voyager 1 was launched 16 days later on September 5, 1977. Amazing they are still out there and functioning for several more years until their nuclear power system degrades to the point where signals to Earth can no longer be sent. A testament to the White engineers who built the spacecraft. I mean, how many 1977 model cars are still on the road?

Phoning E.T.: Message Sent To Nearby Planet That Could Host Life

Quote:
If there are any intelligent aliens in the GJ 273 system, they can expect to hear from is about a dozen years from now.

Last month, scientists and artists beamed a message to GJ 273, a red dwarf also known as Luyten's star that lies 12.36 light-years from Earth, project team members revealed today (Nov. 16). Luyten's star hosts two known planets, one of which, GJ 273b, may be capable of supporting life as we know it.

Though the message was designed to produce a response from the hypothetical denizens of GJ 273b, the main goal in sending the communication involved laying a foundation for the future, said team member Douglas Vakoch, president of METI (Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence) International, a San Francisco-based nonprofit. "It is a prototype for what I think we would most likely need to do 100 times, or 1,000 times, or 1 million times," Vakoch told Space.com. "To me, the big success of the project will come if 25 years from now, there's someone who remembers to look [for a response]. If we could accomplish that, that would be a radical shift of perspective."

Indeed, humanity's demonstratable penchant for short-term thinking has prompted some skepticism within the SETI (search for extraterrestrial intelligence) community about METI as a viable strategy, Vakoch said (METI is also known as "active SETI." "Traditional SETI" involves listening and looking for signals from E.T.).

METI is controversial for another reason as well. Some critics--most famously, physicist Stephen Hawking--have suggested that the strategy could betray our existence to super-advanced hostile or resource-hungry aliens with potentially dire consequences for humanity and the rest of the planet.

But beaming a message to Luyten's star doesn't increase the risk of an alien attack, Vakoch said.

"It's really hard to imagine a scenario in which a civilization around Luyten's star could have the capability to come to Earth and threaten us, and yet they're not able to pick up our leakage radiation," he said, referring to the TV and radio signals that have been slipping out into the cosmos from Earth for more than half a century.

From what I recall when they were devising the pioneer plaque they wanted to make the man and women more defined as in clearly showing the sexual organs. Also I recall they originally had Caucasian man and woman on the plaque but even back then it was deemed too racist. They wanted to represent all humanity so like a kalergi plan they decided hey lets make them Eurasian looking. If you pay close attention they are Eurasian in appearance good going scientists! I think there was a book once that displayed the original image they were going to use while it seemed a little less well done it clearly showed a white man and white woman.

The Pioneer plaque was designed by Carl Sagan and astronomer Frank Drake and the original artwork design for it was done by Sagan's then-wife, Linda Salzman Sagan. According to Sagan the male and female human figures still looked too Caucasian in the final version of the actual plaques attached to Pioneer 10 and 11. Well so what, the spacecraft were products of White people, why not portray them as the primary sub-species of the creatures that sent the probes into space? An African Pygmy certainly isn't capable of such a thing.

I´d assume super advanced aliens who master interstellar travel would have overcome most issues with resource scarcity, it would make no economic sense to travel interstellar distances in order to gather minerals and metals, more likely they would come for specimen collection, and perhaps trophy hunting.
