Too bad it won't be used against the real bugs:

Just nuke them from orbit.

With the creation of the US Space Force, there is a flurry of activity to get a new Space Force uniform in service. However, some encouraging proposals have, unfortunately, already been cancelled:

Even so, a round-the-clock search for a new US Space Force uniform continues...

Over in the #1 Green Nigger thread, I made a couple of suggestions about a new space force uniform. Lucky for us Hymiewood has been predicting this for many decades. Here are my picks for top ten uniforms in descending order:

1. Star Trek
2. Star Wars (Galactic Empire)
3. Starship Troopers
4. Battlestar Galactica
5. Galaxy Quest
6. Space: 1999
7. Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
8. Tom Corbett, Space Cadet
9. Lost In Space (Will Robinson's Season 3 uniform--males, Judy Robinson's Season 3 uniform--females; trannies--personal preference.
10. Plan 9 From Outer Space

The resemblance to the Star Trek Starfleet Command seal might be intentional or coincidence as a way to get young people to enlist. However, the new space force seal is basically the now-defunct US Space Command patch.

That's true, and here's two slightly different variants of that patch, although there's at least half a dozen other variants out there:

But this newest recruitment ad that the US Space Force recruitment office just put out may be going a bit too far:

As you know, there's going to be a big difference between US Space Force ground personnel uniforms and "the fly boys" who actually go into space. The latter will be the elite, and the whole reason for why the USSF exists. But who knows what uniform will come about? I may post some of your choices from the selection above.

In the meantime, once they start recruiting, I'm afraid some of these "types" may start showing up at recruitment centers:

@Hugh Akston--The USSC patch on the left would make a good cap badge, minus the lettering, in silver-colored metal let's say. Similar to the air force and army cap devices with the u.s. eagle coat-of-arms and with the globe added similar to the USMC eagle, globe and anchor.

They won't take the guy on the left, Capt. Ron Tracy of the U.S.S. Exeter because he violated the Prime Directive on planet Omega IV. Hippie Spock they might take.

Question

I don't think the Air Force has such a department, does it?

It does now. The new Space Force is under the Department of the Air Force in the same way the Marine Corps is under the Department of the Navy and the Coast Guard is under the Homoland Security Department.

A good list, but you neglected to mention UFO, a TV series that had some of the most innovative uniforms of all. As such, the newly-appointed commander of the United States Space Force will now require all his female assistants to wear this uniform:

Ah yes, how could I forget UFO? But I did mention their outfits in another thread not too long ago.

Yeah, I saw that. I think I posted something too.

But speaking of uniforms for the United States Space Force, even Captain Kirk would have difficulty keeping his hands to himself were she stationed on the bridge....

Top general confirms that, sadly, people serving in the Space Force won't be called 'space cadets'

https://taskandpurpose.com/space-force-troops-name

The other military branches and the general public will probably call them 'space cadets' anyway.

Or maybe space rangers?
