Paedo BBC boss accused

Quote:
A FORMER BBC boss who worked on Match Of The Day faces 14 child porn charges.

Senior producer Martyn Smith, 44, has been accused of possession of indecent photos of children.

Smith - who masterminded the Sport Relief charity with MOTD host Gary Lineker - was arrested following one of Britain's biggest paedophile investigations. Operation Algebra, led by Scottish police, uncovered 125,000 sick images resulting in the jailing of eight men in May.

The cops alerted Scotland Yard about London-based suspect Smith. Iain Livingstone, Assistant Chief Constable of Lothian and Borders Police, said: "We referred a case to the Met which involved a senior figure at the BBC.

"The individual was in a very senior position and he became apparent to us during Operation Algebra. We passed that information on and he has now been charged and has appeared before a magistrates' court."

Divorced Smith, who took early retirement from the Beeb in 2007, joined BBC Sport 20 years ago.

He was also part of the BBC Sport team that persuaded ex-PM Tony Blair to play tennis against Wimbledon Champion Pat Cash at London's Queen's Tennis Club to publicise the 2004 Sport Relief event.

In 2006, he documented Little Britain star David Walliams's cross-Channel swim.

Smith, of Wandsworth, South West London, appeared before Westminster magistrates on October 12. The case was adjourned.

Default Paedo warning over Townsend

Paedo warning over Townsend

Quote:
RESIDENTS in Miami, Florida have been sent leaflets warning of a sex offender in their midst — British rock legend PETE TOWNSHEND.

The 64-year-old guitarist is due to perform with The Who during the halftime show at next month's Super Bowl.

He was cautioned by cops in 2003 for accessing child porn on the web and placed on the sex offenders' register for five years.

The National Football League has drawn criticism from child abuse campaigners, who say Townshend should not be allowed to take the stage at America's premier sporting event.

Safety

Protect our Children, a Florida activist group, has now stepped up its campaign by sending leaflets to people living near Landshark Stadium in Miami Gardens, which is hosting the glitzy event on February 7.

Bearing a photograph of a grinning Townshend and headlined "Sex Offender Advisory", the fliers warn: "Townshend is a British citizen who was registered as a sex offender in his home country in 2003, for an offence related to child pornography.

"He will be at large in Miami in February when he arrives to perform at the Super Bowl with his musical group known as The Who.

"This is a community notification distributed in the interest of public safety."

Listing his height as 6ft and his weight as 185lb, the leaflets give the musician's full name of Peter Dennis Blandford Townshend.

They have been printed in both English and Spanish and are due to drop through residents' doors today.

The move comes after Protect our Children and another group, Child Abuse Watch, failed to persuade organisers and sponsors of the Super Bowl to drop Townshend from the halftime show.

Evin Daly, founder of Child Abuse Watch, said: "Even someone looking for a job as a groundskeeper at Land Shark Stadium wouldn't get hired with a sex offender status in his past — why then does Townshend?"

He added in a letter to the NFL's vice-president Roger Goodell: "This is the person you intend to use as entertainment for the Super Bowl - a sex offender.

"There is no room for tolerance or excuses for any crimes that involve the most innocent among us — our children.

"You and the NFL must realise that you too have this duty and not reward a known, recorded sex offender with a Super Bowl show."

But the controversy has failed to put off sponsors of the mega-event, which include Coca-Cola, Burger King, IBM and Visa.

The NFL is also standing by Townshend, a divorced father of three, noting that he was only ever cautioned and never criminally charged.

The singer claimed he only looked at child pornography on the internet as part of a "research project".

Townshend was one of 3,744 people arrested in the UK as part of Operation Ore, a nationwide police crackdown on internet perverts.

The Who is considered one of the greatest and most influential rock groups of all time, selling 100million records worldwide and notching up hits with songs including Pinball Wizard, My Generation, Substitute, and Won't Get Fooled Again - now the theme tune to the TV crime drama CSI Miami.

Townshend, whose career with the group spans 40 years, was named one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.

A myth spread particularly thickly in "the movement" for some reason.

When you apply for a visa you must include your CRB sheet. On this will be detailed all of your crimes. They can and do ban people as a matter of course with any sort of a record. Then you appeal and are assessed in person by an immigration officer at your expense.Obviously townsend and his backers have access to top lawyers. He (townsend) could have a lifetime work visa (Its why you have to keep your old passport of you have one). That said townsends offence is almost certainly moral turpitude so his presence could be challenged. He can even be excluded at the point of entry even with a visa by an immigration officer.
The Who fanclub if there be such a thing will almost certainly have the details of his flights arrival in the US.

Townsend is the tip of the iceberg in the candyman case, the soham police officer and ronnie barkers son are the only 3 plus 50 other police officers engaged in child welfare !!! out of more than 5,000 subscribers from the UK who's details were passed on to the government by the FBI.
This is a scandal that is swept under the carpet what about these other 50 coppers all resigned with full pensions and are probably engaged as consultants by unsuspecting or equally perverted childcare agencies.
It was an interactive website that offered free content far in excess of anything else available on pay websites.Yet these people townsend included dug out their credit cards or in the case of the filth their Amex charge cards supplied by their constabularies and payed $100 for the hidden content !
Townsend said he was writing a book well where is it ?

An escape from prosecution, but torment goes on for Townshend

Rock star admits he was wrong to view child pornography on Internet and is placed on the sex offenders' register for next five years

By Jason bennetto Crime Correspondent

Thursday, 8 May 2003

Pete Townshend, the guitarist of the Who, is to be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for the next five years after being cautioned for paying to look at child pornography on the internet.

Pete Townshend, the guitarist of the Who, is to be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for the next five years after being cautioned for paying to look at child pornography on the internet.

The announcement that the 57-year-old rock legend will not face a criminal charge for using his credit card to access a website containing photographs of babies and children being sexually abused is the latest episode in Britain's biggest ongoing police inquiry. The investigation, codenamed Operation Ore, is likely to see up to 6,000 people cautioned or prosecuted for similar crimes.

Townshend's caution – issued yesterday at Kingston police station in west London – drew criticism from some child campaigners who said it was far too lenient, while the man himself continued to defend his actions and issued a lengthy statement to reporters and photographers gathered outside his mansion in Richmond upon Thames.

It also brings to a close four months of frenzied media coverage and speculation about the rock star's future.

While outwardly a caution may seem like a lenient punishment, it does have wide-ranging implications for Townshend and could greatly restrict his future movement.

One consequence of being placed on the Sex Offenders Register is that Townshend is likely to be banned from travelling to the United States for the next five years.

It was inevitable that the multi-millionaire would be punished when in January he admitted that he had used his credit card in 1999 to access the Texan based website, Landslide Productions, which charges £21 a month to access child abuse of the vilest kind. Investigators have stressed the horrific nature of some of the images of abuse, and several journalists in Canada who were shown examples of the material later need counselling.

Townshend's credit card details were among those of about 6,500 British men, and a handful of women, identified by American postal inspectors during an investigation into the subscribers to Landslide Productions. The details were passed on to the British police about a year ago, who then launched a massive inquiry to identify the offenders and bring them to justice.

The operation hit the headlines when it emerged that among the suspects were two police officers closely involved in the Soham inquiry to catch the killer of the 10-year-old girls, Jessica Chapman and Holly Wells.

As the police worked through the huge list and Townshend's name was discovered, it was only a matter of time before it reached the press.

Confronted by dozens of journalists, the rock guitarist quickly issued his defence and admitted the crime, but said that it had been for research for an autobiography, which includes passages about his being sexually abused as a child, as well as a campaign against child abuse that he had been planning for seven years.

Police seized his computers and officers from the Scotland Yard's Child Protection Group carried out a four-month investigation in which they established that Townshend did not possess any downloaded child-abuse images.

It came as no great shock then, when Scotland Yard announced yesterday that rather than being charged and face a possible jail sentence, Townshend had been cautioned for the access and payment for child-abuse images.

As well as not downloading the images – an offence that attracts a maximum five-year jail sentence – other factors in his favour are that he appears to have only made one credit card payment; he did have a credible explanation for his actions; and he did not have a history of similar offences.

Conscious of being accused of favouritism towards a celebrity, Scotland Yard also stressed that they took advice from the Crown Prosecution Service to ensure "fairness and consistency in the handling of suspects across London" in this type of case.

The Metropolitan Police also went to some lengths to point out the seriousness of Townshend's actions. A Met statement read: "The access and payment for child abuse images is an offence, and inciting others to distribute these images leads to young children being seriously sexually assaulted to meet the growing demands of the internet customer.

"It is not a defence to access these images for research or out of curiosity."

A caution means Townshend has a criminal record and he automatically goes onto the Sex Offenders Register for five years. Furthermore a sample of DNA has been taken and he has been fingerprinted and photographed. For the next five years he must notify police of any intention to travel abroad for eight days or more and inform them if he changes his name or address. He will also undergo a multi-agency assessment to determine whether he is of any risk to children.

A spokeswoman at the American Embassy in London said that anyone with a criminal record would not be given a visa to travel to the United States, but they could apply for a waiver, which is decided on case by case. But a US source said that it was "highly unlikely" anyone on the Sex Offenders Register would be granted one, particularly one connected to child abuse.

Townshend yesterday issued a statement in which he insisted police had "unconditionally accepted" his explanation that he was looking at the site as research for his "campaign" against child pornography.

Default 'Blair covering up paedophile scandal?'

While British Prime Minister Tony Blair is under criminal suspicion in the "honours-for-cash" scandal that has rocked his Labour government, we have been told that there is an even more explosive scandal that Blair, up to now, has managed to hide behind the draconian British policy of issuing "D-Notices," government orders that prohibit the British media from reporting on certain "national security" cases.

In 1999, an international investigation of child pornographers and paedophiles run by Britain's National Criminal Intelligence Service, code named Operation Ore, resulted in 7,250 suspects being identified in the United Kingdom alone. Some 1850 people were criminally charged in the case and there were 1451 convictions. Almost 500 people were interviewed "under caution" by police, meaning they were suspects. Some 900 individuals remain under investigation. In early 2003, British police began to close in on some top suspects in the Operation Ore investigation, including senior members of Blair's government.

However, Blair issued a D-Notice, resulting in a gag order on the press from publishing any details of the investigation. Blair cited the impending war in Iraq as a reason for the D-Notice. Police also discovered links between British Labour government paedophile suspects and the trafficking of children for purposes of prostitution from Belgium and Portugal (including young boys from the Casa Pia orphanage in Portugal).

Default BBC apologises to nonce Jonathan King for cutting him out of TOTP

Quote:
Sex offender Jonathan King has forced the BBC into a humiliating apology after he was cut out of a repeat of Top Of The Pops.

The corporation has been screening 1976 editions of the show on BBC Four. King appeared in April of that year with his hit It Only Takes A Minute, which reached No 9 in the charts.

However, his appearance was cut from the re-run for fear of offending viewers – a decision which King described as a ‘Stalinist revision of history’.

Jonathan King performing his hit It Only Takes a Minute on Top of the Pops in 1976. Cambridge graduate King started his career as a record company executive, discovering multi-million selling acts Genesis and 10cc, before becoming a pop singer

Now 66, King was convicted in 2001 of sexual assault on five teenage boys in the 1980s. He was given a seven-year jail sentence and was released on parole in 2005.

He complained to the BBC’s director general Mark Thompson about being left out of the programme in April this year.

In his response, which King has posted on his website, Mr Thompson apologised and wrote that the omission should ‘not have happened’.

Mr Thompson wrote: ‘The BBC’s complaints process begins with a response from the relevant programme makers and I therefore asked my colleagues in BBC Four to address this matter.

‘Their response is as follows: “We are sorry that Mr King’s appearance was edited out of this particular programme. We accept that this should not have happened and we would like to apologise for any upset this caused”.

‘I want to join BBC Four in apologising for this incorrect decision.’
King has also been assured that no more of his Top Of The Pops appearances will be edited out.

Mr Thompson’s response continued: ‘We can assure Mr King that there is no policy in place requiring any of his appearances, or those of any one else, to be removed from repeats we show on the channel.

‘We can also assure Mr King that his performance will not be edited out of any future repeat of this particular episode of Top of the Pops.’
MARK THOMPSON'S LETTER OF APOLOGY TO JONATHAN KING

Dear Jonathan
Thank you for your email. Please accept my apologies for the delay in replying.

I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy that your performance was edited out of an episode of Top of the Pops recently repeated on BBC Four.

The BBC's complaints process begins with a response from the relevant programme makers and I therefore asked my colleagues in BBC Four to address this matter.

Their response is as follows:
"We are sorry that Mr King's appearance was edited out of this particular programme. We accept that this should not have happened and we would like to apologise for any upset this caused.

"We can assure Mr King that there is no policy in place requiring any of his appearances, or those of any one else, to be removed from repeats we show on the channel.

"We can also assure Mr King that his performance will not be edited out of any future repeat of this particular episode of Top of the Pops."

I hope this response is helpful, but please come back to me if there are any further points you wish to raise and I will ensure that these are dealt with in accordance with our complaints process.

I want to join BBC Four in apologising for this incorrect decision.

Best wishes
Mark Thompson Director General BBC

King was delighted with his victory over the BBC. He said: ‘I wrote to Mark Thompson asking why the BBC have adopted the Stalinist revision approach to history, and this is a very nice response.

‘The principle of not altering history is a far bigger one than It Only Takes a Minute – would they remove Hitler from retrospectives?’

He claimed Seventies star Gary Glitter, 67, who was convicted of possessing child pornography in the UK before being convicted in Vietnam for committing obscene acts with minors, had also been removed from repeats.

He went on: ‘I hope this means that any other showings of any other episodes will also feature my performances – the Seventies were full of them, and in the Eighties shows, I’m on virtually once a month doing American chart rundowns.

‘And I hope other censorship, such as removing Glitter from earlier shows, will now be corrected.’

Cambridge graduate King started his career as a record company executive, discovering multi-million selling acts Genesis and 10cc, before becoming a pop singer.

As well as continuing to perform and produce pop records, he presented popular programmes including Entertainment USA.

He was shamed in September 2001 when he received a seven-year sentence for six offences against five boys aged 14 to 16, committed between 1983 and 1989.

King was arrested in November 2000 after the allegations were made public.

At the time, he was released on £150,000 bail, with £50,000 of it put up by X Factor creator Simon Cowell. He was re-arrested two months later.

The BBC had no further official comment on Mr Thompson’s apology to King

A corporation source, however, said: ‘The BBC doesn’t think it should be rewriting history so will be showing these programmes in their entirety.’
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2050698/BBC-apologise-paedophile-Jonathan-King-deleting-Top-Pops.html

So the BBC are promoting paedophiles then. Presumably he will have received royalties every time the programme is shown - disgusting.

Default The Prince of Wales, Pete Townshend and *that* book

Quote:
The Feeling and Pete Townshend are among the artists on board to rock the Royal Albert Hall next month for The Prince’s Trust Rock Gala supported by Novae.

The gala – one of the most important fundraisers in The Prince’s Trust calendar – will take place on 23rd November to raise vital funds for the charity’s work with disadvantaged young people.

A long list of Prince’s Trust supporters are set to collaborate at the gala including singer songwriters Chris de Burgh, Julian Lennon, Cerys Matthews and Imelda May , rock legends Kenney Jones, Mark King and Midge Ure, urban saxophonist YolanDa Brown and classical music star Charlie Siem. The fundraiser will be hosted by presenters Edith Bowman and Patrick Kielty with a special appearance from comedian and musician Tim Minchin.

The evening will mark the tenth Rock Gala in The Trust’s history. Launching in 1982 and continuing until 1990, the galas attracted the support of iconic well wishers such as Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Elton John and Tina Turner.

2010 saw the historic fundraiser launch again for the first time in 20 years, with appearances from music legends Eric Clapton, Brian May and Phil Collins. The evening raised £600,000, taking the total sum raised by the nine galas to £3.5m.

Dan Gillespie, lead singer of award-winning band The Feeling said: “The Trust’s reputation for putting on first-class music concerts spans three decades and the band is delighted to be on board for this one.”

“Anyone who loves music as much as we do and wants to show their support for almost a million young people who are struggling to find work in this country should join us next month and help continue the legacy that is The Prince’s Trust Rock Gala.”

Pete Townshend said: "I'm delighted to be able to play at this year's concert, nearly 30 years after I helped George Martin organise the very first Rock Gala in 1982 with Kate Bush, Robert Plant, Phil Collins and others. The following year was the extraordinary pairing of Madness with Duran Duran. Those were exciting times.

The next engagement for me was at a Prince's Trust concert in Hyde Park in 1996 when I presented the first full-length concert version of my rock-opera Quadrophenia. This event led to The Who reforming after a long separation. Another exciting time for me.

The Trust has helped so many young people I have met. It has done so in simple, direct and practical ways. The Trust's music events have always played a vital role in educating the public about what The Trust does for young people every day."

Seeing this made me wonder how he was coming along with his book on paedophilia. I know many people thought it was just an excuse to explain why he was accessing child porn, but it looks genuine. Good job, as well, because a paedophile raising money for a young peoples trust wouldn't have looked too good. The Prince of Wales has a bad enough image as it is - this would probably have finished him off.

Pete Townshend's paedophilia-tackling autobiography out next year

The Who's Pete Townshend will release his long-awaited memoir Who He? next year.

Townshend has been writing the book for over 15 years and was cautioned by police in 2003 during its writing after accessing child pornography on the internet. When questioned by police about the material he cited researching for the book as his reason for doing so.

He said back in 2003: "I believe I was sexually abused between the age of five and six and a half when in the care of my maternal grandmother who was mentally ill at the time. Some of the things I have seen on the internet have informed my book."

He added: "If I have any compulsions in this area, they are to face what is happening to young children in the world today and to try to deal openly with my anger and vengeance toward the mentally ill people who find paedophilic pornography attractive."

The Who guitarist has also described the book, which will be published by Harper Collins, as a "rite of passage". It is expected to be published in the autumn of 2012

I tell you what puzzles me with this Pete Townshend caper. Ages ago, I remember reading or being told about some bloke who had come across child pornography pictures and had forwarded either the pictures or a link to his local police station. He got arrested for distributing them. So how come Townshend got away with paying to access them? To me, sending the location of such filth to the police is a more respectable activity than writing a book about it, although if he genuinely is trying to expose people or do good, then good for him. I just don't see why the man reporting it got done and Townshend didn't.

Even more inexplicable is why he accepted a caution and openly admits that he accessesed child porn when Investigative journalist Duncan Campbell proved that he (Townsend) had not in fact subscribed to child porn at the website landslide.Which Campbell and the state have promoted as the guilty website involved in "Operation Ore".Of course this is not surprising as the guilty website taken over and operated by the FBI was candyland.com.
This is why townsend et al have not snatched Campbell's hand off as it were.Self evidently they were paying for access to dozens of child porn sites. Now I am not a sexual deviant so cannot know how many websites or card renewals one needs to do to research a book.To plead guilty on the off chance one had accessed a particular website seems to indicate an immersion in much filth. It is interesting that the government have been covering up for the ORE criminals. At the time of ORE the UK was notorious among porn providers in the US for the amount of browsing but lack of purchasing the UK did.It was an industry statistic that less than 1 in a thousand browsers from the UK would subscribe in 2001-2.That statistic clearly shows that ORE represents 7.5 million browsers from the UK.Perhaps vested interests are preventing full disclosure.I notice wikileaks don't have the ORE list

Yes, I've had a brief look for the Operation Ore list but not found it. All I keep finding is stories about how much the police screwed it up and how much they have had to pay out to various people for falsely accusing them. If I remember correctly, they only prosecuted a hundred or so of the thousands caught by it. Now I can see that a few people had their card details cloned or stolen or whatever and got out of it that way, but not thousands of them.

This 2003 article is from an enemy source, but might explain where your vested interest suspicions should be pointing.
Quote:
A child-sex scandal that threatened to destroy Tony Blair’s government last week has been mysteriously squashed and wiped off the front pages of British newspapers. Operation Ore, the United Kingdom’s most thorough and comprehensive police investigation of crimes against children, seems to have uncovered more than is politically acceptable at the highest reaches of the British elite. In the 19th of January edition of The Sunday Herald, Neil Mackay sensationally reported that senior members of Tony Blair’s government were being investigated for paedophilia and the “enjoyment” of child-sex pornography:

“The Sunday Herald has also had confirmed by a very senior source in British intelligence that at least one high-profile former Labour Cabinet minister is among Operation Ore suspects. The Sunday Herald has been given the politician’s name but, for legal reasons, can not identify the person.

There are still unconfirmed rumours that another senior Labour politician is among the suspects. The intelligence officer said that a ‘rolling’ Cabinet committee had been set up to work out how to deal with the potentially ruinous fall-out for both Tony Blair and the government if arrests occur.”

The allegations are the most serious yet levelled at an administration that prides itself on the inclusion in its ranks of a high quota of controversial and flamboyant homosexual men, and whose First Lady, Cherie Blair, has come under the spotlight for her indulgence in pagan rituals that resemble Freemasonic rites. Unconfirmed information also suggests that the term “former Labour Cabinet minister” is misleading and that the investigation has identified a surprisingly large number of alleged paedophiles at the highest level of British government, including one very senior cabinet minister

The Blair government has responded by imposing a comprehensive blackout on the story, effectively removing it from the domain of public discussion. Attempts on the part of this journalist to establish why the British media has not followed up on the revelations have met with a wall of silence. Editors and journalists of The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent, The Sunday Times, The Observer, The Sunday Telegraph, The Daily Mail, The Daily Express, The Mirror, The Sun, the BBC, Independent Television News and even The Sunday Herald have refused to discuss the matter.

Speaking from London, freelance journalist Bob Kearley told me:

“Whether or not a D-Notice has been issued is not clear. But based on some of the feedback I’ve been getting it’s apparent that editors and media owners have voluntarily agreed not to cover the story at this time. Operation Ore is still being reported, but not in regard to government ministers, and it’s taking up very few column inches on the third or fourth page. Don’t forget that the intelligence services are involved here, and Blair is anxious to ensure that the scandal does not rock the boat at a time when the country is about to go to war.”

“You can imagine the effect this would have on the morale of troops who are about to commit in Iraq. In fact morale is reportedly quite low anyway, with service personnel throwing their vaccines into the sea en route to the battlefront and knowing how unpopular the war is with the British people. And a lot of squaddies I’ve met think there’s something weird going on between Bush and Blair. If you’re then told that the executive responsible for the conduct of the war is staffed by child-molesters … well, then Saddam suddenly looks like the sort of bloke with whom you can share a few tins [beer].

I found that article from this page http://mccannexposure.wordpress.com/2010/04/18/revealed-british-premier-gordon-brown-is-a-paedophile/ where there is more links of this kind. I am not endorsing them or claiming them as truth but they make interesting reading.

Very interesting, he was linked to the Jersey Boys' Home but it had it super injunctioned basically. Something very Jonathan King about him. Idolising his mother, never with women OR men, despite great wealth and fame...definatley makes sense.

There are rumours and allegations that he was a necrophiliac. His psychological profile certainly suggests that it is a possibility. Watch the Louis Theroux clip about Jimmy Savile. While talking in the back seat of a car, Saville says he has never had a relationship ever. And he absolutely has no feelings for anyone. To stop himself from getting hurt. That is a red flag for a necrophiliac.

Jimmy Savile was known for his charity work. He also volunteered as an hospital porter on the nightshift! This has led people to speculate that he fucked dead bodies in the hospital morgue.

I'd been waiting for months for a has-been 'celebrity' to die so I could make a joke about it. Jim fixed it for me.

I knew Leeds very well in the 1970's and rumour had it the Saville had quite a few illegitimate children, he was also rumoured to use ''heavies'' if he encountered any problems, whatever thats supposed to mean..

Haut de la Garenne children's home in Jersey.

Quote:
This is an excellent article and while I cannot verify every fact the theme is absolutely right. I know from my own unimpeachable sources that Saville was a sick abomination of a human being who not only abused children, but was a necrophiliac, which is defined as an 'obsessive fascination with death and corpse' and an 'attraction to or sexual contact with corpses' - hence his famous 'volunteering' to be a 'porter' at Leeds General Infirmary.
David Icke's take on Savile.
