Post Scottish First Minister Offers Home To "Refugees"

Scotland has a long history of embracing left-wing politics, but in recent times, it has opted for the champagne socialist Scottish National Party (SNP). The party leader, Nicola Sturgeon, is the First Minister for Scotland and as such she is the leading voice in Scottish politics. Among her pleas to the British government to take more Syrians into the country, she has even decided to offer her own home as a temporary sanctuary to those in need of housing when they reach bonnie Scotland.

Personally, I would not wish cohabitation with Ms. Sturgeon on my worst enemy, but nor would I wish an influx of thousands of illegal alien immigrants on any country either. Such is the magical time we live in though. Sturgeon has initially suggested that Scotland take 1,000 people as a “starting point” with a view to accepting more in the future, and knowing the deceitful nature of the SNP, that 1,000 will turn into 10,000 in a matter of days within allowing them access into the country.

An initial fund of £1 million has been issued to a new taskforce for looking at possible solutions in dealing with the crisis. This comes shortly after a sweeping SNP victory within Scotland for the General Election whereby the SNP plucked at lefty heartstrings in pushing their agenda for socialist change. Top of the list on their election agenda was child poverty as well as food banks, which they blamed on the British government despite having a budget of their own which they consistently underspend on, but have somehow found a spare £1 million for their alien invaders.

Thankfully, Scotland do not have any say on the border security of the UK. Unfortunately however, the not-so-Conservative party does, and they have stated the nation will accept 20,000 Syrians to begin with. This is proving to be a dissatisfying number for the SNP, as they hope for ‘thousands more’ and for David Cameron to put “much more flesh on the bones”.

Fortunately for the sake of the British Isles, the SNP do not hold much influence on the entire country and only have a small say in the politics of the day. However it is still extremely worrying the cult-like support the SNP have acquired, whereby they can do nor say no wrong. Scotland finds itself in serious danger with the SNP continuing their push for independence, which would undoubtedly finish the nation once and for all. Therefore, let this be a call to all Scots to awaken to the madness that has consumed their once great country, and get to work on fixing it, together as the Great British nation our forefathers passed on to us.

Scotland has a chronic housing shortage so I would be interested to know where these people are going to be housed !.

Another thing most people seem to ignore is that many of the fit young men in designer sunglasses we see on the TV should be in the military fighting for their country.

Don't regurgitate that ridiculous ZOG narrative, "housing shortage".

Rather, the British Islands suffer from an economic immigrant infestation. Never forget there was a housing surplus, pre-invasion.

What nonsense Britain has always suffered from a chronic housing shortage.
Read Orwell's 'The road to Wigan pier' it describes the substandard housing that workers had to crowd into.

Post Scottish nationalists plan new independence vote

London (AFP) - Scottish nationalists will propose holding a new referendum on independence from the rest of Britain, Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said on Sunday.

Sturgeon said her pro-independence Scottish National Party (SNP) would set out a timescale for a referendum in its manifesto ahead of regional elections next year.

"Our manifesto will set out what we consider are the circumstances and the timescale on which a second referendum might be appropriate," Sturgeon told the Press Association news agency.

The manifesto is due to be unveiled at the SNP's annual conference next month.

The party, which won 56 of Scotland's 59 seats in May's general election, pushed for a vote last year in which Scots voted by a margin of 55 percent to 45 percent against independence.

Sturgeon said it would be up to Scots to vote for or against the party manifesto and the referendum could be held "in five years or 10 years".

A poll by Ipsos Mori for Scottish television channel STV showed 55 percent of voters in Scotland would back independence if there was another referendum.

"It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that support for independence has risen in the past year," Sturgeon said.

She said Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron's government had reneged on a promise to grant Scotland sweeping new powers and had pursued harsh budget austerity policies.

Sturgeon said that pressure for a vote would also grow because of "scaremongering" about Britain's membership of the European Union ahead of an in-out referendum which Cameron is planning to hold by 2017 at the latest.

George Galloway: Nicola Sturgeon’s testimony answered no questions; this round goes to Alex Salmond

George Galloway
was a member of the British Parliament for nearly 30 years. He presents TV and radio shows (including on RT). He is a film-maker, writer and a renowned orator.

4 Mar, 2021 16:46

Both Scotland’s former and current First Ministers have testified in their ongoing feud over the handling of sexual misconduct allegations against Alex Salmond. And Nicola Sturgeon is looking decidedly pale.
(...)
Almost a year ago, as is widely known, Salmond was acquitted of every single charge by a jury comprising mainly women, presided over by a female judge.

Having known the former SNP First Minister of Scotland for over 30 years, I was never in doubt about his innocence, only about his prospects of getting justice. It turns out he has still not received justice.
(...)
Sturgeon’s friends are concentrating on making this a #MeToo issue. But there were no sex crimes committed by Salmond. There are no victims of Alex Salmond. And the SNP’s concern for women would be rather more believable if their own Gender Recognition Act wasn’t determined to wipe out the hard-won rights of ACTUAL women in deference to the rights of biological males who identify as women. It was those who only six years ago hailed Alex Salmond as the King of Scottish politics whom we should follow into the dark in the direction of secession. Those who organised the frame-up of Alex Salmond, those who used the zeitgeist of #MeToo to corral in their cynical political power-play.

The Salmon is the King of Fish, it swims upstream and no obstacle stops it returning to from whence it came. It does or dies. In the now fetid waters of Scottish politics, a new turbulence is underway. They’ve not seen the last of the Salmond.

The epic battle between Salmond and Sturgeon.

^^^ Is that the same George Galloway who now plans to vote for the Tory party? The man has the morals of a sewer rat. He's gone so far to the left that he's ended up being a right winger ha ha ha

Despite living close to the border, I've yet to see one of these black-haired, black-eyed Scotch in real life. How did they happen. It's a real puzzle. Are they crossed with something from the ports, as occurred in Liverpool/Newcastle?

Oh! Maybe I'm "cleverer than I look"!

Nicola Ferguson Sturgeon was born in Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine, on 19 July 1970. She is the eldest of three daughters born to Joan Kerr Sturgeon (née Ferguson, born 1952), a dental nurse, and Robin Sturgeon (born 1948), an electrician. Her family has some roots in North East England; her paternal grandmother was from Ryhope in what is now the City of Sunderland.

Here's Chris Sweeney's take:

Nicola Sturgeon, and Scottish independence, forges on. The Salmond case is not the Watergate her enemies hoped for

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s testimony was one of the biggest recent events in British politics. Her government’s credibility and Scottish independence were on the line, as her fate is intertwined with the movement.

It’s not every day that a sitting leader of a government gets grilled live on TV for their citizens to watch. Even worse, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon did it over eight hours in front of the Committee on the Scottish Government Handling of Harassment Complaints.

Despite the grand title, it boiled down to a simple issue. Had Sturgeon lied or interfered to influence the investigation into complaints of alleged sexual abuse made against her predecessor and mentor Alex Salmond?

He was fully cleared by a criminal court of all charges last year and this was only about the government and Sturgeon’s conduct.

The unofficial verdict? Also not guilty.

Sturgeon delivered a masterclass. The nine committee members peppered her with questions, some of which were downright pedantic. Every time she had an answer that appeared credible. There was no silver bullet, nothing to catch her out on.

During Salmond’s appearance in front of the committee last week, he spoke combatively but his successor as first minister played it smarter – maybe she took his teaching and improved it.

Sturgeon only showed her claws on a couple of occasions.

They thought they had her over the point on how Salmond had come to know the identity of two of the complaints. If this had come via Sturgeon then she was in Richard Nixon territory.

They came at her as if expecting her to quickly crumble, but she managed to take the wind out of their sails.

Personally, I'm not sure what to make of all this. I'd like to hear what SNP's Depute Leader John Dory has to say before making up my mind.

Scottish first minister Nicola Sturgeon survives no-confidence vote after ‘misleading’ Parliament over Alex Salmond complaints

23 Mar, 2021 17:33

Nicola Sturgeon has survived a no-confidence vote after a Holyrood committee found she had misled the Scottish Parliament over her role in the handling of sexual harassment complaints against her predecessor, Alex Salmond.

Some 31 Scottish lawmakers voted for the motion, brought by the Scottish Conservative Party, on Tuesday, while 65 backed Sturgeon by voting against it. There were 27 abstentions.

“If you think you can bully me out of office, you are mistaken,” the first minister said during Tuesday’s parliamentary debate on the motion.

Scotland’s Sturgeon warns Boris Johnson not to block SECOND independence vote, says he’d be ‘picking a fight’ with Scottish people

8 May, 2021 18:32

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has warned Prime Minister Boris Johnson not to block another independence referendum. However, Sturgeon may not be in a position to demand such a vote.

With counting still underway in Scotland’s parliamentary election, Sturgeon’s is on track for a fourth term as first minister, winning 62 out of 86 seats declared thus far. However, 129 seats are up for grabs, and owing to Scotland’s convoluted voting system, Sturgeon’s Scottish National Party is likely to fall short of an outright majority.

Still, with her party set to remain the largest in Holyrood, Sturgeon already has her eyes on another independence referendum. She warned Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Saturday that should “any Westminster politician” try to block such a vote, they would be “picking a fight with the democratic wishes of the Scottish people.”

"You will not succeed, the only people who can decide the future of Scotland are the Scottish people,” she told reporters.
