A diesel Electric submarine stands about as much of a chance in a modern era engagement as a biplane does at an Arial engagement with a MIG.
NO matter how modern, its underwater speed is severely limited because of battery capacity. Any sub that has to surface is vulnerable. |

"Diesel", etc… the point is Brits are the ones suckered into wasting their dwindling resources.
