Police were patrolling the area when they heard gunshots at around 6:40 p.m.

So police patrols don't stop shootings? What if there were two or more cops assigned to every street corner at all times? Would that help? How much would it cost?

They found a man in his 30s who had been shot twice in the lower extremities.

He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
