Default Wolf Reintroductions

Hidden From Public View – the Truth About Wolves

by Bruce Hemming

My latest project was in-depth study on the wolf reintroduction in America. The journey I took to discover the truth about the wolves uncovered several facts that have been hidden from public view. But more importantly, I discovered a few facts about public officials that I believe hold true for government at all levels.

1. An elitist attitude of "we are the educated ones and you peasants must do what we say."
2. A strong-arm enforcement policy ready to crush any oppressed person who dares to stand up to the elite.
3. A propensity to revise history to fit the agenda. For example, in several newspaper archives I found reference to over 100 people who were killed and eaten by wolves. Yet, the mantra emanating from the eco-environmentalists' camps is that there has never been a documented case where a wolf has killed a human.
4. Elitist attitudes that laws must not be followed to the letter, but, instead, can be manipulated. For example, the Mexican gray wolf being introduced isn't a purebred. It's actually a hybrid with dog, coyote, and Kansas wolf bloodline mixed in.
5. A media willing to be the Federal officials propaganda machine, i.e. who dutifully report all the propaganda provided to them by the manipulating rewilders.
6. Psychotic environmentalist groups whose real goal is to wipe out most of America for the good of everything other than human beings.

Let's break it down and explain each Point.

1. You peasants must do what we say. The residents of Blue Arizona circulated a petition. All 100% of the citizens who signed it clearly stated they weren't interested in becoming part of a wolf recovery area and wanted no wolves reintroduced there. This was ignored by the USFWS and wolves were shoved down the throat of the citizens. Peasants are only supposed to support the multi-million dollar waste of tax dollars and never tell the elite, "No." None of the people I spoke with in Blue Arizona feel free to decide what's best for them. Instead, they feel more like Germans being told to work in the bomb factories for Hitler.

2. The Gestapo tactics of the Federal officials in New Mexico is well known. Take a look at Henry Lamb's synopsis of the over-the-top tactics used by Federal Forest Service workers against Kit Laney and his 14-year-old son, Albert.

"According to Kit, a law-enforcement officer approached young Albert Laney, a passenger in Kit's vehicle, pointed his finger at Albert and said, "I'm a law-enforcement officer, and we're going to get you, too."

"The Laneys, on the other hand, are the little guys, who want nothing more than to continue living where their ancestors settled in 1883, doing what their ancestors have done for more than a century. They have invested their life building their ranch to pass on to their children. The tragedy is that if the big guys succeed in taking the property and life work of several generations of Laneys, they can also take the property and life work of every other Western rancher whose livestock graze on so-called public land. If the Laneys can halt this confiscation and taking of private property, or force the government to pay for what they are taking, then, perhaps, the big guys will have to rethink whether they can afford the cost..."

That the tactics of the Feds serve as an example to other peasants is typified by the action, or lack thereof, of another 14-year-old who was surrounded by a pack of vicious wolves while elk hunting. During the 5 minute stand off with the alpha male directly in front of him and the rest of the pack on both sides of him, the teenager feared for his life. When asked why he didn't shoot the offending wolves, he didn't hesitate a second and replied, "I didn't want my dad to lose his ranch like they did to Kit (Laney)."

It's pretty bad in America, don't you think, when a young man has to decide whether to defend his own life or cave in to the Gestapo actions of the Federal government that might wipe out the family ranch?

So what exactly is the penalty for shooting one of the prize, cross-breed mutts called Mexican gray wolf? Violations of the federal Endangered Species Act can invoke criminal penalties up to $100,000 and/or six months in jail, or a civil penalty of up to $100,000.

3. Revising history. Until recently, the rewilders insisted that "despite claims to the contrary, we have no evidence of wolf attacks against humans in North America." Now the disclaimer has been revised to read "despite claims to the contrary, we have no evidence of wolf attacks against humans in the United States."

Why the change? It was necessary because over recent years, there have been several incidents of wolf attacks on humans in Canada, including a lethal one.

Emily Wright recovering from her attack.

Here is a picture of a young lady recovering from a 2005 Labor Day weekend wolf attack in Canada. If this were your 14-year-old daughter, how would you feel? In this case, the wolf also repeatedly attacked several other people on a public beach, including a 3 year old girl.

In an unrelated 2005 incident, which also occurred in Canada, a young man was stalked by a pack of wolves and though he struggled to survive, his partially eaten body was recovered by co-workers who chased off the wolves. The offending wolves were later found and killed and it was learned that they were "healthy," not suffering from some malady that caused them to look for an easy meal.

Following are just two accounts from newspaper archives of lethal attacks on children by wolves:

Oct 30th – Mr. Jenson's 4-year-old son died – daughter injured. The wolves had attacked several people along the road. But Oct 30th was a dread day for the parents. They heard the terrifying screams of their young children. The father, armed with a shotgun, raced to help. He was too late; his 4-year-old son was torn to pieces and dead. The pack was now working on his 6-year-old daughter, but he was able to drive them off, saving her. She had several scratches and bites on her arms from fighting off the vicious wolves. (Bismarck Tribune – 10/31/1891)

St. Paul. Minnesota – 3 children killed and eaten by wolves. These are the large vicious gray wolves from Northern Minnesota. The pack was seen fighting over the remains of the 3 children. The children had wandered into the woods by the twin cities. No one knows the final terror these poor children felt as the savage beasts ripped the life out of them. Men taking a shortcut found the wolves and left to get help. Upon returning with a number of armed men, the beasts would not leave until 2 were shot. Once driven off the grizzly scene, the 3 partially eaten children were found. A huge hunting party was formed. (Janesville Gazette – 11/19/1891)

It appears the so-called "experts" have lied to the American people about how safe wolves are around children. Apparently, once you have a doctorate in wolf biology, it's okay to lie.

4. Elitist attitudes that laws must not be followed to the letter, but, instead, can be manipulated.

According to the Endangered Species Act, only purebred species can be use to re-establish populations. An exception is apparently made when it comes to the wolf. Introducing hybrids is okay because, once again, the experts claim those wolves are really Mexican gray wolves. As one noted scientist (from overseas) stated to me when discussing the purported "purebreds," "...you means those mutts with radio collars in New Mexico."

5. A media willing to push the propaganda of the Federal officials, i.e. Who dutifully report all the propaganda provided to them by the manipulating rewilders.

Those who are reintroducing wolves throughout America claim to "understand how local citizens could be concerned and, in collaboration with partners, develop and distribute 'public safety' information." In reality, much of the "public safety" information is carefully crafted to alleviate people's concern; it's hype, spin, and hogwash, which is fed to mass media outlets, but the media takes it as gospel and reports it as the gospel truth without doing any investigation on its own.

Though my film, "UNDUE BURDEN: the real cost of living with wolves," has been widely distributed throughout southwestern "wolf re-introduction" country, only one mass media reporter has taken the time to call me to discuss the validity of the rewilders' claims.

6. Psychotic environmentalist groups whose real goal is to wipe out most of America for the good of everything other than human beings.

What the leaders of the Environmentalist groups are really saying isn't hard to find with a little online research. Back in 1996, elitist Ted Turner stated in an interview with Audubon Magazine that "A total population of 250–300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal."

Who appointed the pro-wolf cultists to be God; to decide who lives and who dies? This sounds like something out of Stalinist Russia.

Here's a quote Holly Swanson included in her book, Set Up & Sold Out: Find Out What Green Really Means: "this is true in the struggle to save the environment...we must be the organizers, the leaders of these movements...Human society cannot basically stop the destruction of the environment under capitalism. Socialism is the only structure that makes it possible" – Gus Hall, National Chairman of the US Communist Party.

There you have it, folks, in black in white and clear as day. The leaders have stated they want 95% of the human race, including your family, wiped out, extinct, slaughtered and killed off. The only way they can do this is under the Communist system.

When you support the wolf reintroduction program, make an effort to understand who and what you're supporting. Ask yourself if you're supporting America, the home of the brave and land of the free, or if you're really supporting gulags and the iron fist of communism being slammed down by radical eco-environmentalists and their federal and state natural resource agency "partners."

On July 4, 2008 I attended the Ron Paul Freedom Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. One of the speakers was Russell Means from the American Indian Movement. In his speech he told about the American Indians' struggle against the U.S. government. He then made one very important statement – "the U.S. government is now trying to drive the rural homeowner and ranchers off their lands across rural America. Just like the native Americans before them, the rural Americans are now considered the new Indians. How does it feel to be the New Indians?"

For what my opinion is worth, the re-introduction of wolves out here in the west is crazy. Ranchers lose out, people + pets can get attacked. Wolves were removed 100+ years ago for a reason, things have gone pretty well in those years.

See, this is why I follow the libertarians, they are good at debunking the minor stuff. This is like revisionism for people with really tiny balls but working brains.

I'm sure many of you have seen the claim above - that there's no documented case of wolves killing and eating humans. The left lies about everything. I learned that when I was about eight.

Reintroductions aren't inherently bad. Turkeys were reintroduced successfully to Northern Missouri, and they've thrived. The funny part is, the state wildlife department pooh-poohed the idea - it was only pushed through due to the perseverance of a private citizen. But when it comes to man-chewing wolves, why, the staties can't uncage 'em fast enough.

The claims about wolves are of the same ilk as claims about sharks. Oh, they don't like to eat people. Yeah, except when they do. Then they cry. They know they're not s'posed to. But sometimes, as in Motel Hell, meat's meat and a shark's gotta eat. What's a shark to do? If they had arms, shrug they would.

The coolest refutation of lefty pravda-head-reality since Dr. Johnson booted the pebble was that Swiss shark "expert" moron who got drumsticked in the Caribbean mid-crockumentary shooting. Yes, yes, little expert. Sharks don't eat humans...unless they get between their lips. That was certainly in the top five funniest things I've ever seen on video.

The Treadwell syndrome, itz. Maxist prop that says Grizzly bears and wolves are our friends. "Look, you can even pet them, watch!".....cue to photograph of park rangers standing over lib tard and girlfriends remains covered by bloody sheet.

I still have the link of Tim Treadwell's Month Pythonesque demise saved in my bookmarks because it is that freakin funny. Written, totally seriously, by Craig Medred, Anchorage Daily News. Comments in blue.

KATMAI: Many had warned Treadwell that his encounters with browns were too close.

A California author and filmmaker who became famous for trekking to Alaska's remote Katmai coast to commune with brown bears has fallen victim to the teeth and claws of the wild animals he loved. An unrequited love, apparently.

Alaska State Troopers and National Park Service officials said Timothy Treadwell, 46, and girlfriend Amie Huguenard, 37, were killed and partially eaten by a bear or bears near Kaflia Bay, about 300 miles southwest of Anchorage, earlier this week.
Scientists who study Alaska brown bears said they had been warning Treadwell for years that he needed to be more careful around the huge and powerful coastal twin of the grizzly."But the dumb tree hugger just wouldn't get it", sources in the Anchorage County Coroners office were quoted as saying.

Treadwell's films of close-up encounters with giant bears brought him a bounty of national media attention. The fearless former drug addict from Malibu, Calif. -- who routinely eased up close to bears to chant "I love you'' in a high-pitched, sing-song voice -- was the subject of a show on the Discovery Channel and a report on "Dateline NBC." Blond, good-looking and charismatic, he appeared for interviews on David Letterman's show and "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" to talk about his bears. He even gave them names: Booble, Aunt Melissa, Mr. Chocolate, Freckles and Molly, among others. This is where the story starts to get funny. "I love you Mr. Chocolate and Freckles, why are you tearing me to shreds?" Does Treadwell think this is a Captain Kangaroo episode? With Molly, Aunt Melissa, Mr Greenjeans and Dancing man eating Bear?

A self-proclaimed eco-warrior, he attracted something of a cult following too. Chuck Bartlebaugh of "Be Bear Aware,'' a national bearawareness campaign, called Treadwell one of the leaders of a group of people engaged in "a trend to promote getting close to bears to show they were not dangerous.Take 1 former drugged out hippie from Malibu, add 2 wild grizzly bears, mix well with lib media indoctrination and you have a "trend"......and two mauled and extremely surprised dead people.

"He kept insisting that he wanted to show that bears in thick brush aren't dangerous. The last two people killed (by bears) in Glacier National Park went off the trail into the brush. They said their goal was to find a grizzly bearso they could 'do a Timothy.' We have a trail of dead people and dead bears because of this trend that says, 'Let's show it's not dangerous.' ''How can that be possible? Fluffy was such a good bear. Never ate a human before. Those people must have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Society has failed Fluffy.

But even Treadwell knew that getting close with brown bears in thick cover was indeed dangerous. In his 1997 book "Among Grizzlies,'' he wrote of a chilling encounter with a bear in the alder thickets that surround Kaflia Lake along the outer coast of Katmai National Park and Preserve.

"This was Demon, who some experts label the '25th Grizzly,' the one that tolerates no man or bear, the one that kills without bias,'' Treadwell wrote. "I had thought Demon was going to kill me in the Grizzly Maze.''You know, every once in a while a faint glimmer of intelligence sparks in the mind of a lib tard. Something deep down and tribal that says to him.....bear bad, bear kill me

Treadwell survived and kept coming back to the area. He would spend three to four months a summer along the Katmai coast, filming, watching and talking to the bears. And just when you thought the faint glimmer of intelligence might take hold and ignite an inferno, it is quickly snuffed out by the sheer overwhelming wind of Stupid.

"I met him during the summer of '98 at Hallo Bay,'' said Stephen Stringham, a professor with the University of Alaska system. "At first, having read his book, I thought he was fairly foolhardy ... (but) he was more careful than the book portrayed.

"He wasn't naive. He knew there was danger."

NO PROTECTION

Despite that, Treadwell refused to carry firearms or ring his campsites with an electric fence as do bear researchers in the area. And he stopped carrying bear spray for self-protection in recent years. Friends said he thought he knew the bears so well he didn't need it. See, that's all you have to do is get to know the wild bears. Talk it out, make friends. Look at things from the wild bears perspective. We're all mammals, can't we all just get along?

U.S. Geological Survey bear researcher Tom Smith; Sterling Miller, formerly the Alaska Department of Fish and Game's top bear authority; and others said they tried to warn the amateur naturalist that he was being far too cavalier around North America's largest and most powerful predator.

"He's the only one I've consistently had concern for,'' Smith said. "He had kind of a childlike attitude about him.''

"I told him to be much more cautious ... because every time a bear kills somebody, there is a big increase in bearanoia and bears get killed,'' Miller said. "I thought that would be a way of getting to him, and his response was 'I would be honored to end up in bear scat.'"

A number of other people said that over the years Treadwell made similar comments to them, implying that he would prefer to die as part of a bear's meal. All said they found the comments troubling, because bears that attack people so often end up dead. Alright, lets not bicker and argue about who killed who, this is supposed to be a happy occasion.

We're knights of the Round Table,
we dance whene'er we're able.
We do routines and chorus scenes with footwork impec-cable!

Katmai park rangers who went Monday to retrieve the remains of Treadwell and Huguenard -- both of whom were largely eaten -- ended up killing two bears near the couple's campsite.

Katmai superintendent Deb Liggett said she was deeply troubled by the whole episode.

"The last time I saw Timothy, I told him to be safe out there and that none of my staff would ever forgive him if they had to kill a bear because of him,'' she said. "I kind of had a heart-to-heart with him. I told him he was teaching the wrong message.

"This is unfortunate, (but) I'm not surprised. It really wasn't a matter of if; it was just a matter of when.''Even Deb realizes you can't fix stupid.

What led up to the latest Alaska bear attack, as well as exactly when it happened, is unknown. The bodies of Treadwell and Huguenard, a physician's assistant from Boulder, Colo., were discovered Monday by the pilot of a Kodiak air taxi who arrived at their wilderness camp to take them back to civilization. A bear had buried the remains of both in what is known as a "food cache.'' The bear was only acting out against centuries of oppression by the evil, racist park rangers.

The couple's tent was flattened as if a bear sat or stepped on it, but it had not been ripped open, even though food was inside. The condition of the tent led most knowledgeable observers to conclude the attack probably took place during the daylight hours when Treadwell and Huguenard were outside the tent, instead of at night when they would have been inside. Most of their food was found in bear-proof containers near the camp.Lib logic at itz finest. Treadwell and gf bear proof their food but not themselves. Note to Tim from Yogi..."you gotta be smarter than the average bear".

Officials said the camp was clean but located close to a number of bear trails. Because of the concentration of bears in the Kaflia Lake area and a shortage of good campsites, however, it is almost impossible to camp anywhere but along a bear trail there.thanks to Treadwell, bears now know that campers=free food.

EXTENDED THEIR STAY

Treadwell and Huguenard, who was in the process of moving from Colorado to Malibu to live with Treadwell, had last been heard from Sunday afternoon when they used a satellite phone to talk to Jewel Palovak. Palovak is a Malibu associate of Treadwell at Grizzly People, which bills itself as "a grass-roots organization devoted to preserving bears and their wilderness habitat.''Sources told this reporter that Palovak has renamed his and Treadwells org, Grizzly People, to.... Grizzlies Who Eat People in Treadwells honor.

Palovak said she talked with Treadwell about his favorite bear, a sow he called Downy. Treadwell had been worried, Palovak said, that the sow might have wandered out of the area and been killedby hunters. So instead of returning to California at the end of September as planned, Treadwell lingered at Kaflia to look for her. Palovak said Treadwell was excited to report finding the animal alive."Downy" was reported to be excited to see Treadwell, as well. As evidenced by autopsy photos showing slashing wounds and ripped out stomachs of both victims.

PILOT CALLS IN TRAGEDY

What transpired in the hours after the phone call is unknown. The Kodiak pilot who arrived at the Treadwell camp the next day was met by a charging brown bear. The bear forced the pilot for Andrew Airways back to his floatplane.Yeah, police investigators are stumped as to how two people could be eaten like that.

Authorities said he took off and buzzed the bear several times in an effort to drive it out of the area, but it would not leave the campsite established by Treadwell and Huguenard. When the pilot spotted the bearapparently sitting on the remains of a human, authorities said, he flew back to the lake, landed, beached his plane some distance from the camp and called for help from troopers and the Park Service. That would be ex-human and soon to be honored bear scat.

Interviews with sources who were on the scene provided this account:

Park rangers were the first to arrive. They hiked from the beach toward a knob above the camp hoping to be able to survey the scene from a distance. They had no sooner reached the top of the knob, however, than they were charged by a large brown bear.

It was shot and killedat a distance of about 12 feet. The Andrew Air pilot, according to Bruce Bartley of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, was convinced the large boar with the ratty hide was the same animal he'd tried to buzz out of the campsite. The boar was described as an underweight, old male with rotting teeth.Police reported that before the bear was shot he yelled out, "why you chasin me fo, I din do nuffin".

Authorities do not know if it was the bear that killed Treadwell and Huguenard. They were to fly to the site on Tuesday to search the animal's stomach for human remains but were prevented from doing so by bad weather.

After shooting that bear, rangers and troopers who had by then arrived walked down to the campsite and undertook the task of gathering the remains of the two campers. While they were there, another large boar grizzly went through the campsite but largely ignored the humans. His belly still full from the Griswald campers of last week.

A smaller, subadult that appeared later, however, seemed to be stalking the group. Rangers and troopers shot and killed it. Rangers affectionately named the little fella, Boo boo, posthumously.

"It would have killed Timothy to know that they killed the bears,'' Palovak said, "but there was no choice in the matter."Bears don't kill people, choices do.

"He was very clear that he didn't want any retaliation against a bear,'' added Roland Dixon, a wealthy bear fan who lives on a ranch outside of Fort Collins, Colo., and has been one of Treadwell's main benefactors for the past six or seven years. "He was really adamant that he didn't want any bearto suffer from any mistake that he made. His attitude was thatif something like this were to happen, it would probably be his fault.''Normally I would be leaning towards blaming the jew but on this one, petting Grizz, yeah it was Treadwells fault.

Bartlebaugh of "Be Bear Aware'' has no doubts that Treadwell loved the animals but believes the love was misguided.

"I'm an avid bear enthusiast,'' Bartlebaugh said. "It's the same attitude that I think Timothy had, but I don't want them (the bears) to be my friends. I don't want to have a close, loving relationship. I want to be in awe of them as wild animals.''[color=blue] That gives me an idea. Start a group called "Be Nigger Aware". Same principle used here.

Palovak, Treadwell's associate, and Dixon take a different view.

"I think (Timothy) would say it's the culmination of his life's work,'' Palovak said. "He always knew that he was the bear's guest and that they could terminate his stay at any time. He lived with the full knowledge of that. He died doing what he lived for.''Lived a moron, died a moron.

"He was kind of a goofy guy,'' Dixon said. "It took me a while to get in tune with him. His whole life was dedicated to being with the bears, or teaching young people about them. That's all he ever did. It was always about the bears. It was never about Timothy. He had a passion and he lived his passion. There will be no one to replace him. There's just nobody in the bear world who studies bears like Timothy did.''Timothy has studied bears from the inside out.

Dixon acknowledged Treadwell took risks with bears but dismissed as envious those who criticized his behavior .Everyones jealous Tim is a steaming pile of bear shit.

Tha tha that's all folks.

Good stuff, Steve.

I saw that documentary on Treadwell, he was an actor who lost out to Woody Harrelson for the part on cheers. A diver and a drunk. I don't think he was homo, as some do.

Timothy Treadwell is Exhibit A that some people are simply impervious to reality and will have to suffer their folly. Liberals and many Christians are the same way. Amy Biehl found out the hard way that her pet pre-humans weren't interested in any of the Marxoid bullshit she was preaching but rather in the same robbery and killing they've been interested in for the last 100,000 years.

The Christian missionaries and nuns who lived for years in the Belgian Congo with the native wildlife and preaching Heebus Jeebus to it and deluding themselves that they were turning stone age savages into Black-skinned White Christians, found out a la Treadwell that wildlife remains wildlife.

I wonder what these Christian idiots last thoughts were as their pet monkeys turned on them and began to gang rape, butcher and eat them?

Christians enjoy being raped and murdered. They get to be martyrs like Jesus, and like Jesus say "forgive them, they know not what they do."

A Peace Corps broad got a lesson in the school of hard bites. She was helping the duskies in Togo. They told her not to jump in a certain patch of water. She ignored them. A tiger shark ate her. C'est la mort.

DNA is what drives animals. The DNA of a domesticated dog is "similar" to that of a wolves, but both are different, just like the human species. The DNA of blacks is similar to that of whites, yet very different, just at the results of their actions show....

Interesting stories - you could pretty much substitute the word "negro" for "wolf" or "bear" in any of them...

The southwest should, more appropriately, have the Red wolf reintroduced to it of any species.

I like wolves and would much rather see them here than some of the "people" amongst us. I'll even venture a guess that if these "people" were cleared from the lands there would plenty of room for wolves, ranchers, and actual humans.

How can you deny the beauty of these animals? They are valuable. I don't care if they eat 5 children daily, they should be here.

I like wolves and would much rather see them here than some of the "people" amongst us. I'll even venture a guess that if these "people" were cleared from the lands there would plenty of room for wolves, ranchers, and actual humans.
Perhaps, but any sensible woman would have to remain indoors while she was having her period.Bears in particular can be dangerous then.
How can you deny the beauty of these animals? They are valuable.
The better the hide, the more valuable they are.
I don't care if they eat 5 children daily, they should be here.
Perhaps they should be,but you'd damned well care if one of them ate one of your children.
People unfamiliar with nature in all it's raw savagery really don't comprehend it's astonishing brutality.Describing it would be futile but watching a ferocious carnivore devouring its prey alive would be an education for a lot of "city slickers".

If a wolf ate my child I would call it Darwin at work. Hopefully my subsequent children would be smart enough to not be eaten by wolves. Like polar bears, if wolves start venturing out of their territories you have to kill a few of them so the others know to stay back. Kind of like subhuman animals, too.

More about wolves here:

You have no experience with large dangerous predators whatsoever. If a wolf ate your child it would mean that a large ferocious beast he could neither outrun, outfight or scare off ripped his innocent flesh to pieces and devoured him alive while he was still screaming in agony.

Some years back a bear ate a schoolchild on his way home for lunch. This was in sight of several of his schoolmates and, since you could see the school from my uncles place, almost on my uncles property.

I know lots of places where wolves, cougars and bears are shot on sight (any closer than ten miles from town will usually do it).Not many places in western, rural Canada where mentioning wild animals,Darwin and children in the same breath would make one a popular person.Spouting such stuff after an actual attack would likely lead to a swift change of residence.

You obviously missed the part of my post (whether by accident or intent) where I stated if the animals start to venture out of their territory you must kill 1 or 3 to keep the other's back. This was done in Alaska with polar bears, and until killing them was outlawed it worked rather well.

And not to completely sidetrack this discussion, but you asked about MY reaction to MY child being eaten. Obviously the reaction to my own child would be different to that of a neighbor. If it were my child I would blame my failings first, and the animal second. Hence the comment of Darwin at work. I would never be so harsh on a neighbor - sometimes things do indeed just happen. You can't ask me 1 question and then twist it to something else.

I would have to believe though that wolves/cougars/bears/etc would "test the waters" by going for smaller domesticated animals in most instances before they moved on to small humans. That leads back to the requirement of killing a couple to keep the rest back.

Actually you have to continually keep killing them off.

didn't miss it at all.

Human beings do not have the senses to detect wild animals on the prowl.Until you actually see for yourself it's almost unbelievable how well a large animal can avoid detection. They're well aware of the rifle, but are fully cabable of ignoring it to fill their belly.
Hence the comment of Darwin at work. I would never be so harsh on a neighbor - sometimes things do indeed just happen. You can't ask me 1 question and then twist it to something else.
Merely pointing out that your lake of familiarity with wild animals is leading you to erroneous ideas

Believe as you wish,in perhaps most cases you're right. However both cougars and bears have been known to sneak into populated areas, ignoring livestock,to pick off human prey. When hungry enough they don't hesitate to take on adults either

That leads back to the requirement of killing a couple to keep the rest back.
My familiarity with actual wild animals in the flesh trumps your wishful thinking about them.Sorry but that's just the way it is.

I am very sorry you were harmed by an animal, but it still does not make me feel they should not be here. We will have to agree to disagree, while I hope you made a full recovery.

That's not actually me.That's the guy (I think it is anyway)who was attacked by a mountain lion and killed it with his jack knife.

I was once attacked by a bear, but two 12 gauge slugs convinced him of the error of his ways.Didn't finish him off though so I had to run all the way back to my house and grab my 30.06 to finish the job.

Once I had a chance at a wolf (pelts were worth 250.00 to 400.00 at the time),but the second I touched the brake he was gone like greased lightning.
