Black Lives Matter UK to give £600,000 funding to campaign groups

BLACK LIVES Matter UK have announced that they are giving £600,000 funding to grassroots organisations in an effort to “improve black people’s lives in a racist society.”

The campaign group received up to £1.2m in donations after setting up a GoFundMe appeal during widespread anti-racism demonstrations in June and July last year.

BLM UK plan to award the donations in two phases. The first £169,500 has already been given out in small grants to 14 organisations the campaign group has worked with.
