Ron Paul Stings Hillary Clinton on Iraq War, Warns of Draft
Reply to: [email protected]
Date: 2007-10-13, 8:44AM PDT

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul speaking at the Robert Taft Club in Arlington VA Thursday directed some of his firepower at his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

Sounding like a candidate that can win his party’s nomination, Paul said, “She voted for the war now she says she can’t get the troops out until 2013 and she won’t rule out a military first strike against Iran.”

Although his barb toward Clinton was in response to a question asked from the audience Paul’s challenge to Hillary Clinton is another sign of the candidate asserting himself in the top tier of Republican candidates.

Paul now stands fourth in the money race behind Giuliani, Romney, and Thompson. Paul’s campaign message also seems to be more in line with party principles and rank and file primary voters than the other front runners.

Paul spoke about foreign policy, the Constitution, and protecting civil liberties. He also spoke about the Federal Reserve.

They’ve “transferred illegally the power and responsibility of congress to the president. The real debate should have occurred before the war.” He said, “They’ve forgotten the constitution. They do not follow any principled, moral, or constitutional position”.

Paul talked about his warnings back in 2002 and although he didn’t support the war he had said, “If you want to go to war you should go to war properly. Declare it, win it, and get it over with”.

Paul had voted against the Iraq war while Hillary Clinton voted for it. Paul’s antiwar stance is the silver bullet that his supporters believe will cripple Hillary Clinton in a general election.

“Change foreign policy, reduce spending, give us a stronger defense.” Paul then pointed out that his “campaign gets more money from people in the military than all the other Republican campaigns put together” We need to “change our foreign policy and follow the law”. We need a peaceful foreign policy and have to respect liberty”

Ron Paul said our foreign policy encouraged nations to go nuclear, “If they threaten to get a nuke we bomb them, once they get one, we subsidize them”.

Paul warned “there’s a lot of behind the scene agitation for reviving the draft”. Ron Paul then hammered Selective Service, “Selective Service is the government saying it owns a group of people”. His harshest words, “The military draft of young people is a sign of a totalitarian government” Paul said.

“We financed each and every war through Federal Reserve financing”

Ron Paul challenged the Federal Reserves role in war, “Secretive financial scheme such as the Federal Reserve used to finance the military industrial complex.” He warned that it is costing “trillion dollars to maintain empire. Eventually empire catches up, we can not maintain empire”.

He explained why people on Wall Street don’t see a recession coming, “People in the military industrial complex and people in the medical industrial complex get the counterfeit money first”

This is causing “run away inflation and the destruction of currency”. Warning of an economic down turn, “I believe we are in early stages of a recession”

Paul said that he wouldn’t just abruptly change the Federal Reserve System. He said he’d “legalize competing currencies in gold and silver, that can be done in a very non disruptive way”.

The Federal Reserve was created in 1913 creating what some feel is a banking monopoly with the police power of the government to back it up.

“We’re taxed to blow up the bridges in Iraq, now we’re taxed to rebuild the bridges while ours are falling down”.

Speaking of what he perceives as an emerging police state, Paul said, “Greatest threat to us today is internally not externally. The domestic threat is gigantic”

Regarding the income tax he joked about people asking him, “What are you going to replace it with”? He replied “Nothing”!

Here too Paul said that he’d have compassion for people dependent on the system and wouldn’t be throwing people out in the street. He said that there’d be a gradual process of reducing government. He also said that reducing the cost of empire would free up money for domestic issues.

“We can always improve our past, we can improve ourselves. Central economic planning does not work Empty promises don’t work.” Every individual has this right to liberty.”

Sounding like a general election candidate Paul said, “Our crowds are diverse. Freedom unites. It’s not right wing or left wing it’s the humanitarian thing”.

“These ideas are reviving. People have a right to their life and their liberty”.

“The message is not delivered by the greatest orator but it is the greatest message ever”.
“It’s exciting what’s going on. The young people are so excited. I promise them nothing but freedom, our right to our life, our right to liberty.”

The candidate’s message of peace, freedom and prosperity seems to be resonating and uniting people, not only in the Republican Party, but across the political spectrum

Here's the latest hit piece from the mainstream media:

Thomas B. Edsall
The Huffington Post
To His Dismay, Ron Paul Becoming Magnet For White Supremacists
October 15, 2007 09:30 PM

Through no fault of his own, Rep. Ron Paul's anti-globalist, anti-government campaign for the Republican presidential nomination has become a magnet in neo-Nazi networks, pulling in activists and supporters from the fringe white nationalist community where anti-Semitism, anti-black and anti-immigrant views are commonplace.

In some cases, these internet-based activists acknowledge that even though the Paul campaign does not have a racist or anti-Semitic agenda, it can serve as a vehicle to find sympathizers and to recruit new loyalists drawn to the Republican congressman's opposition to international trade agreements, federal police authority and to the income tax.

Such web-based organizations as Stormfront (motto: "White Pride, World Wide"), Vanguard News Network ("No Jews. Just Right.") and the Nationalist Coalition ("working to create the relationships that will lay the foundation for the White community that is necessary to our survival") have become sources of support for Paul's bid for the Republican nomination, and in some cases have set up separate Ron Paul discussion groups.

The Paul campaign dismissed the pro-Paul activities among these groups. "We don't know who these people are," said Jesse Benton, Paul's communications director. Their support has "nothing to do with Ron Paul, and what he stands for....His message of freedom, peace and prosperity - that's why people support him."

Paul has not made racist or anti-Semitic appeals to the controversial organizations and their members. Instead, their support is based on Paul's libertarian opposition to government generally, including the IRS and the powers granted to the federal government under the Patriot Act - views that are shared by many on the conservative fringe of the spectrum.

In the 2000 campaign, Patrick J. ("Pat") Buchanan appealed to many similar individuals and organizations. Buchanan had a history of expressing views that were often interpreted as anti-Semitic.

Writing on the Vanguard News Network, "White Will" argued that "folks, get involved in the Ron Paul 'revolution' and work with political activists in your communities who are attracted to his anti-globalist message.... Most of you would be surprised at how many good people can be exposed to a, let's say, 'pro-majority' message among the remarkable groundswell of fed up, mostly White Ron Paul supporters -- many, early on, from the 9/11 truth movement. They are finding their backbones as they are exposed to more and more hidden truths, especially about the hidden hand of Jewry behind every foul venture."

Among those backing Paul this year is John J. Ubele, the National Coalition's Operations Manager. In an emailed reply to an inquiry, Ubele said, "I know that Ron Paul is not a white separatist or a white nationalist. However, he is the most honest and responsible of all the presidential candidates and that is why I support his candidacy."

The National Coalition is one of a number of splinter groups that formed after the death of William Luther Pierce, author of The Turner Diaries, and founder of the now fractured National Alliance. The Turner Diaries were considered crucial to the thinking of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.

On a Stormfront discussion thread on the Paul Campaign - "The Ron Paul Revolution" -- one contributor wrote in:

"Not standing up for Ron Paul against the un-American Jewish media and neo-cons who will do anything to stop his nomination is like not standing up to the efforts to force integration, to encourage mass non-White immigration, or to the attack on the USS Liberty."

"Ron Paul is NOT a White Nationalist. His Libertarian policies will also conflict with National Socialism, something that a good number of Stormfront members support. However, he is the least toxic candidate by leaps and bounds," wrote a contributor identified as "Concerned Human."

A minority of the contributors to white nationalist web sites insist on rigid adherence to their racial views. "Anything less than ALL is NOTHING. If anythings priority is not 100% the survival of the White Race, than it is a problem and not a solution. Ron Paul's priority is not 100% the survival of the white race, so he is an enemy and a burden just as much as any jew," wrote "comJo, Pan-Aryan Insurgent."

The white nationalist and anti-Semitic support flowing to the Paul campaign reflects one of the difficulties facing candidates who do not fall into the midstream: that often their views on less controversial subjects like trade and the power of the federal government to take property through eminent domain also appeal to extremist groups.
---

Edsall called me yesterday and kept asking, "Will Ron Paul be good for White people?" I kept telling him he'd be good for all people, that he's the only principled statesman in a field of bought politicians; that he's not a racist, but that race-thinkers are attracted to him because he's honest, he speaks truth to power, puts America's interests first, etc., etc. Edsall didn't use anything I told him -- he couldn't because his job is to smear Dr. Paul. That's what he's paid to do.

Edsall was writing for the Washington Post in 2000. He interviewed me then, too, for a big hit piece he did on Pat Buchanan in the July 23d edition of the Post. Maybe someone reading this can dig that up and post it here to show how strikingly similar Edsall's hit pieces are, though over seven years apart.

PB reacted grovelingly here, just before naming a Black running mate, Ebola Foster, to prove he wasn't racist: http://www.buchanan.org/pa-00-0724-edsall.html

Neo-CON Jew Jonah Goldberg picked up on Edsall's hit piece on Buchanan and ran with it here: http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/jonah072700.asp

www.huffingtonpost.com has an Alexa rating of 2,870, which means it probably gets millions of hits, weekly or monthly.

I noticed that out of all VNN'ers, and all their thousands of postings, the author selected a quote from White Will. Meaning Will really knows how to attract their attention and rattle their freakin kike cages.

It also plugged Vanguard News Network - No Jews, Just Right. Meaning Alex and VNN'ers are doing some good.

The article itself, really wasn't all that damaging to Paul though, Will. But I suspect much stronger ones are forthcoming as the jews become more concerned about Paul's growing popularity.

Default Following up on poll victory

That's right, VNNers put Dr. Paul out front in this poll. Now it's time to get him on her popular radio show to reach a new segment, anti-war liberal Democrats. They vote, too, just like the dread "White supremacist" boogeymen do, and can cross over to vote for him in Republican primaries in all the open primary states. Every media appearance by him draws in more voters who have had a bellyful of politics as usual: forced to choose the lesser evil candidate.

To: Stephanie Miller <[email protected]
To: Jesse Benton c/o <[email protected]>

Dear Miss Stephie,

I was looking at the polls on your Myspace page: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endid=80129281

Nearly 1/3 of respondents put the Iraq war as the top issue in next year's election. I assume most are against the war, as I am. Though I'm an independent voter my candidate is Dr. Paul, the only Republican candidate opposed to the Iraq mess, and the only candidate of either party to say we need to bring the troops home ASAP -- not by 2013 like the top tier Democrats equivocate about. I voted for Dr. Paul in your poll. It's remarkable that he is leading your poll as a conservative Republican.

I would like to suggest you consider having Dr. Paul as a guest on your show. He was treated shabbily by some nay saying mainstream media types, but has overcome them and their "legit" polls that keep him buried at 2-3%. He has bona fide credentials for "top tier" after 6 Republican debates and raising so much money with his grassroots support via the Internet, bypassing the mainstream media. Here's how the vote totals stand now in your poll asking, /Who would you vote for President in '08/?:

Ron Paul...............142
Barack Obama......112
Al Gore...................98
John Edwards..........88
Hillary Clinton..........51
Dennis Kucinich.......51

Learn more about Dr. Paul through his main Web site: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/

I'm Cc'ing this to Dr. Paul's Office, *c/o Mr. Jesse Benton*, Dr. Paul's Communications Director, the man who coordinates his media appearances. I hope you'll get together and schedule an appearance for the top peace candidate.

Best wishes,

Will Williams - Tennessee

Not exactly a stinging rebuke, is it?

Jesse is correct:

1) He doesn't know who we are.
2) Our support for Paul has more to do with opposing the Jew-bought politicos in D.C.

Hell, I've been slapped harder by my grandma. Maybe Jesse was pressed for time, but he could have said: "We want nothing to do with these people. If we identify them and their affiliations, we will return their money and/or remove them from the campaign. Ron Paul is committed to stamping out prejudice and will not tolerate.....blah, blah, blah..........."

Jesse didn't say that, did he?

Default Let's all email Stephanie

Her email address is: [email protected]

I just emailed her the following:

Hi Stephanie, just a short email to request that you have Ron Paul on your
talk show as a guest.

And perhaps to make the show even more inticing to your listeners, you
might also have on Obama at the same time as co-guest with Mr Paul. Obama
placed 2nd behind Paul in your presential poll.

Whew !! You gotta admit, that would make a very lively as well as a very
informative show for your voting audience.

You can reach Mr Paul at: www.ronpaul2008.com

Thanks, and best wishes.

515 comments now, many angry at the lame hit piece. When Edsall called me yesterday I told him if he did a hit piece on Dr. Paul that it would backfire on him. I asked him if he was alerted by the SPLC that I was supporting Dr. Paul like they alerted him in 2000 that I was supporting Pat Buchanan when he quoted me in that patented hit piece? He said yes. SPLC monitors VNN and provided White Will's post to Edsall. He used no quotes from our interview because I gave him nothing "hateful."

He actually admitted that he tended to agree with me after I told him people have had enough of Jews controlling the mass media and our political process, the economy and foreign and domestic policy, etc. He is a journalistic whore. His last words to me were, "Watch yourself." My last words to him were, "I'll watch myself, all right. The goddamned Jew watchdog groups can watch somebody else....and you can quote me on that, Tom."

Default The Republican Jewish Coalition Doesn't Like Ron Paul?

"Ron Paul was rejected because of his consistent voting record against U.S. assistance to Israel and his criticism of the pro-Israel lobby."
http://freedom4um.com/cgi-bin/readar...63973&Disp=All

The Republican Jewish Coalition on Tuesday is hosting a forum in Washington for presidential hopefuls. Six of the party's nine candidates were invited, and five will attend:

former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani,

former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney,

former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson,

and current U.S. Sens. John McCain of Arizona

and Sam Brownback of Kansas.

Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor,

was invited but could not attend.

Not invited were long-shots U.S. Reps. Duncan Hunter of California,

Tom Tancredo of Colorado

and Ron Paul of Texas.

Paul was rejected because of his consistent voting record against U.S. assistance to Israel and his criticism of the pro-Israel lobby.

Default 60 second man

Just sent a nice, non-"racist" e-mail to Ms. Miller asking for her to have Dr. Paul on her program. Took less than 60 seconds.

Ron Paul has been very busy lately. I don't know if he would even have the time at this juncture. I'm sure he would've jumped on the opportunity 6 months ago, but he's gotten so huge now I wonder if he doesn't have more effective ways to spend his precious campaigning hours.

I was sending emails to Jay Leno months ago, and rumor is Paul's gonna be on the show October 30.

He's well aware of you, Sgt Mossyback, and that you're still throwing bait. He may have won that court battle with you 21 years ago and banned the WPP, but he knows he's losing the war. His co-counsel, prosecutor Sam Currin, the US Attorney at the time (later Fed judge and Chairman of the NC Republican Party), is sitting in the hoosegow today. That must bring a smile to your thin caucasoidal lips, huh? :krofl

Flush With New Millions, Underdog Vies to Compete

By JULIE BOSMAN
Published: October 26, 2007

WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 — If media muscle is any measure of a candidate, Representative Ron Paul of Texas is getting ready to flex his.

In the last two weeks, Mr. Paul — a Republican presidential candidate — has spent nearly a half-million dollars on radio advertisements in four early primary states, the first major media investment of his campaign. On Tuesday night, he will take a seat opposite Jay Leno.

And on Monday, a campaign spokesman said, he will roll out his first major television advertising campaign, spending $1.1 million on five new commercials to be shown in the New Hampshire market for the next six weeks. (In contrast, Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former mayor of New York and a rival for the Republican nomination, has yet to commit to any spending for television advertisements.)

Mr. Paul’s commercials are intended to introduce him to voters in New Hampshire, where independents can vote in either primary and where a libertarian streak could give Mr. Paul a chance to translate his quirky popularity into votes.

After raising a surprising $5 million in the third quarter, Mr. Paul has found himself with a significant pile of cash; he has $5.4 million on hand.

His campaign says it is just the beginning: it has set fund-raising goals of $3 million in October, $4 million in November and $5 million in December, marks campaign managers say are within reach. In two days last week, Mr. Paul raised $438,000.
Mr. Paul places no restrictions on who can donate to his campaign, but most of his money comes through the Internet. His campaign said 78 percent of the $5 million in contributions from the third quarter was collected online.

“It’s time to spend it,” said Jesse Benton, a spokesman for Mr. Paul.

It is a decidedly traditional strategy for a campaign that has been run largely by an army of enthusiastic volunteers (Mr. Paul’s circle of paid staff members has been small, but will grow, he said), and fervent supporters on the Internet, who have promoted their candidate on blogs and other online forums.

Mr. Benton said the television campaign would be geared toward introducing Mr. Paul to a greater audience — not to attacking fellow Republicans.

In the first commercial, shot last week in New Hampshire, voters present some of the themes of Mr. Paul’s candidacy, including his opposition to the Iraq war and his past as a doctor in a small Texas town.

Mr. Paul, 72, may speak like an outsider but he has represented conservative Republican districts in Texas for 10 terms, and he was the Libertarian candidate for president in 1988. Still, in the Republican debates, he has stood out with his emphatic antiwar, low-tax, anti-immigration, small-government views — the kind of positions that could appeal to people in a state like New Hampshire, where independent voters make up 45 percent of the electorate. Dante J. Scala, an associate professor of political science at the University of New Hampshire, said that if the advertisement campaign was effective, it could convince more independents, libertarians and even moderate Republicans to vote for Mr. Paul. According to a recent Marist College poll, about 15 percent of likely Republican voters in the state were undecided.A poll released Thursday by the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at St. Anselm College in Manchester, put Mr. Paul in fourth place in New Hampshire with 7 percent of the vote, behind Senator John McCain of Arizona (15 percent), Mr. Giuliani (22 percent) and Mitt Romney (32 percent), the former governor of Massachusetts. [Bosman conveniently omits "top tier" Fred Thompson's 5% - Ed.]

“It’s striking to me that he’s at 7 percent without running a single TV ad in New Hampshire,” Mr. Scala said. “If he starts to attract significant support among independents, then he could start to hurt Giuliani or McCain.”

Mr. Paul’s Republican rivals may already be taking notice of his newfound purchasing power. During the Oct. 21 Republican debate in Florida, the other candidates treated him more gently than in previous debates, like the one in May when Mr. Giuliani admonished him for suggesting that the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, were spurred by American policies in the Middle East.

Nick Gillespie, the editor in chief of Reason, the monthly libertarian magazine, called Mr. Paul “a fly in the ointment” in the Republican race.

“Just by being out there and pushing a strict constitutional line, I think he’s making them sweat a lot,” Mr. Gillespie said. “He’s highlighting the fact that they will say anything to get elected. Or at least to get through the primary.”

But even as Mr. Paul tries to push into the mainstream, he brings with him an assortment of supporters — Libertarians, independents, socially conservative Democrats, and, less desirable for the campaign, white supremacists and 9/11 conspiracy theorists — who have their own ideas about what his message should be and how he should project it.

Many have been active on the Internet, voicing their thoughts about free markets, the war, taxes and which of those issues they want him to emphasize. Some of his supporters were banned this week by RedState.com, a popular Web site for conservative commentary, from posting comments about Mr. Paul, on the argument that they were liberals masquerading as conservatives.

In an interview as he drove from Washington to his home in Virginia last week — fresh from filming television advertisements that morning — Mr. Paul said his supporters were “making signs and meeting and writing and waving signs and doing all these things.”

“Sometimes we sit around and figure out, ‘I wonder how much value there is from that?’ ” Mr. Paul said.

“They’re totally out of our control,” he added.

That's Doctor Paul to you, Bosman.

Will thanks for the heads up on Ron Paul's Tonight Show appearance. I'll be sure to watch it and mention it to other folks. I've said this before and will say it again, that I am damned glad to see "White Will" back on here. He's a living legend and a man to be listened to.

The "5th of November" V for Vendetta reference donation push is going to prove just how easy it is for an ad hoc political action committee to form on the internet and raise a lot of funds.

Ron Paul Supporters Sell Goods on eBay to Back Nov 5 'Money Bomb'
Friday, October 26, 2007 - FreeMarketNews.com

FMNN recently reported that the upcoming November 5 2007 Ron Paul “money bomb” had only received about 10,000 formal pledges out of the 100,000 it needed (see related story). But supporters of presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-Tex) apparently believe that resourcefulness will trump any temporary lack of funds. In fact, FMNN feedbacker Parke emphasizes that backers of the presidential race's only Jeffersonian conservative are increasingly turning to EBay and putting items up for sale with the tag “RP08.”

Writes Parke: “I’m giving everything I can afford. If you search RP08 on eBay you will find other supporters donating goods for sale for Nov. 5th. Our MeetUp members have mostly agreed too. Though many haven’t signed up. MeetUp is proving to be incredible for this campaign. I’d encourage any MeetUp member to spread the word to other members! Time to take America BACK!

Parke reported the following on RonPaulForums.com: “I just listed some Paul Frank bedding sets, bathroom decor and a clock. Check it out and bid! No reserve at all! …. I’m going to donate the money raised November 5th!”

Over at DailyPaul.com, Shepardh1 informed viewers back on October 19th that the eBay code for such eBay Ron Paul donations was RP08. He wrote: “So, let’s clear out our garages and such and sell our extra stuff on eBay and donate the proceeds to the cause. When you list something on eBay, include RP08 in the subject line so that we can all browse our supporter's stuff.... for example, I just listed a Robbie Raccoon, but if you search for RP08 in eBay... it comes up... Great way to raise our $12-mil for the quarter!

Ron Paul Money Bomb Long Way to Go in a Short Time?
Thursday, October 25, 2007 - FreeMarketNews.com

The "money bomb" is big news among Ron Paul supporters. The volunteer effort hopes to provide the campaign with up to $10 million in donations on November 5. But as of October 25, supporters were watching nervously and noting that there was "a long way to go."

With close to 10,000 signs ups, an informal sampling of Ron Paul supporters suggested that perhaps the money bomb effort was bigger than the sign-ups suggested, as not everyone who intended to give funds on November 5th was signing up.

Ron Paul supporters interviewed also suggested that the money bomb site offer a sign up sheet for those who wanted to give $50 or even $25. One Ron Paul supporter suggested for every sign up on the site, there were perhaps two or three supporters who intended to give on November 5th but who hadn't signed up.

Such optimistic forecasts would bring the sign-up rate closer to 20 or 30 percent, and that in turn would bring the total up as well, allowing Ron Paul to close in on his quarterly goal of $12 million.

Supporters also suggested optimistically that, as time grows shorter, it is possible, even likely, that the sign up rate will increase. If the November 5th money bomb reaches even $5 million, the detonation will likely attract media attention.

The intro to the money bomb site reads as follows:
