Poll: France Wants the UK Kicked Out of the EU
Good idea, merci France.
Andrew Anglin Daily Stormer September 12, 2014 The majority of French people would like Britain to be ejected from the EU, rather than meet London’s demands for renegotiation, a recent poll found. France is the only one of the polled countries who felt this way. Breitbart: The polling was undertaken by think tank The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), as part of a wide-ranging annual report on global trends, The Local has reported. For the first time it included a question on whether the EU should accommodate London’s demands for reform or risk Britain pulling out of the Union. The question was prompted by British Prime Minister David Cameron’s plans to push for renegotiation ahead of a referendum on British membership of the EU in 2017. Citizens of eleven countries, including France, Britain, Germany, Italy and Poland were quizzed, but only the French favoured Britain leaving: 42 percent thought that London’s demands should be met, whereas 52 percent thought Britain should instead leave the EU. The Dutch were also fairly ambivalent, with just 45 percent saying Britain should be able to renegotiate, but fewer, 40 percent, thought that a British exit was preferable. In a result that will worry strong proponents of a UK exit, the British respondents were the most in favour of renegotiation, with 57 percent saying that Brussels should negotiate with London. Just 35 percent of Brits were in favour of Britain leaving the EU outright. Earlier this year, former French Prime Minister Michel Rocard, who served under François Mitterand, called for Britain to leave the Union saying that Britain was the cause of all of the EU’s problems. “Britain is a great country that has always refused to allow Europe to interfere in its affairs. It has blocked any further integration,” he told Trombinoscope, a French parliamentary magazine. “If they go, it becomes possible to respond to the needs of governing in Europe. Even Germany realises this and demands it. I hope for it a lot because they have prevented it from developing, they killed it.” I would like to see a poll about how many people in each country think the EU should simply be dissolved completely. My guess is that the following countries would say “yes, dissolve it”: The UK France Spain Greece Netherlands Sweden Switzerland Belgium Slovakia Sweden Italy And these would say “no, no, no – we need it”: Romania Poland Estonia Lithuania The Ukraine Bulgaria Czech Latvia Croatia Oh. And Germany would want to keep it, of course. Trying to unite all of these vastly different people into a single union was an incomprehensible act of pure retardedness. What do you guys think? http://www.dailystormer.com/75772/

Polls differ but Brits are approximately evenly split on whether we should leave the EU.
The mainstream media is quite Euroskeptic but not as many people in the UK as you might think agree with them. |

E.U. with Germany as prime donor to fund 450,000,000€ Gaza rebuilding
Maybe, future wars on European soil could answer the constant affordable housing shortage, here in Germany. Is it any wonder that there is so much visible misery in Europe's richest country?

EU's refugee relocation plan faces legal reckoning
The EU's top court rules Wednesday on the legality of a controversial quota scheme that Brussels launched two years ago to force member states to admit thousands of asylum seekers. The European Court of Justice will issue its verdict on a legal challenge that Hungary and Slovakia lodged against the scheme that requires bloc members to take in Syrians and others from overstretched Greece and Italy. The European Union approved the scheme as part of efforts to boost EU solidarity and end the chaos generated by Europe's worst migrant crisis since World War II. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/...koning-9184372 |

Employers' rights to monitor office emails to be decided by European court
ECHR ruling in case of Bogdan Bărbulescu could shape extent to which firms can monitor employees’ private communications The extent to which employers can monitor their employees’ office emails could be shaped by a test case on workplace privacy to be resolved by the European court of human rights this week. The final ruling in a long-running appeal brought by a Romanian man against his dismissal revolves around whether it was reasonable for his firm to investigate whether he had been sending private messages on his professional Yahoo Messenger account. https://www.theguardian.com/law/2017...vacy-test-case |

EU to Resettle 50,000 Refugees From North Africa
Тhe European Union is planning to resettle 50,000 refugees directly from war-torn countries into Europe in its latest bid to stabilise migration to the bloc, it announced on Wednesday. The European Commission said that it has set aside €500m (£440) to fund the resettlement of refugees from Libya, Egypt, Niger, Sudan, Chad and Ethiopa in order to deter illegal migration and reduce the attraction of people-smugglers. "People who are in genuine need of protection should not risk their lives or depend on smugglers," said Dimitris Avramopoulos, the EU’s migration commissioner. Europe has to show that it is ready to share responsibility with third countries, notably in Africa," he added. The initiative comes as Jean-Claude Junker, the European Commission president, tries to take the lead on addressing the migration crisis amid continued squabbling between EU member states over migration burden-sharing. A compulsory quota scheme to distribute 160,000 migrants within the EU ended this week in failure and recriminations after just 29,000 migrants were relocated and the Commission promised legal action against Hungary and Poland for refusing to accept the quotas. The Commission is also pushing EU member states to maintain the spirit of its passport-free Schengen travel area which has come under pressure from the twin threats of migration and terror. Mr Avramopoulos said that from November there would be “stricter” requirements on states wanting to introduce temporary border checks during times of emergency, limiting the checks to a maximum of three years. "We propose to prolong the maximum deadline from six months to one year, for the temporary re-introduction of border controls. At the same time, we are adding stronger procedural guarantees ensuring that such controls remain an exception used only as a measure of last resort," he said. "In the case of long-lasting security threats, an extraordinary possibility for prolonging border controls and internal borders for another two years is added. This can only happen on the basis of a recommendation by the Council. The new restrictions could put officials in Brussels on a collision course with France and Germany, who wanted the period to be extended to up to four years. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017...-north-africa/

Security Union: Commission steps up efforts to tackle illegal content online
European Commission - Press release Brussels, 28 September 2017 The Commission is presenting today guidelines and principles for online platforms to increase the proactive prevention, detection and removal of illegal content inciting hatred, violence and terrorism online. As announced by President Juncker in his Letter of Intent accompanying his State of the Union speech of 13 September, the European Commission is presenting today guidelines and principles for online platforms. The aim is to increase the proactive prevention, detection and removal of illegal content inciting hatred, violence and terrorism online. The increasing availability and spreading of terrorist material and content that incites violence and hatred online is a serious threat to the security and safety of EU citizens. It also undermines citizens' trust and confidence in the digital environment – a key engine of innovation, growth and jobs. http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-17-3493_en.htm |

The opaque world of MEPs’ expenses is cause for concern
Europe Letter: A monthly €4,416 allowance has been heavily criticised by journalists "There is,” as the independent MEP Marian Harkin observed with some serious diplomatic understatement, “ample opportunity to misspend.” Matt Carthy of Sinn Féin described as “scandalous” and “defying logic” the close July decision of the European Parliament’s governing body to deny journalists’ demands for further accountability on MEPs’ expenses. We were discussing the monthly €4,416 “general expenditure allowance” paid to all MEPs to fund their constituency offices, paid in many cases directly to their personal accounts – not in Harkin’s or Carthy’s cases – and for which no accounting or receipts are required. https://www.irishtimes.com/news/worl...cern-1.3642493 |

Secretary General: urgent measures needed to fight anti-Semitism and online hate speech
Nov 18, 2019 In a live television interview on German broadcaster Deutsche Welle, Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić has highlighted the key role of the Council of Europe in countering a rising trend of anti-Semitism and online hate speech in Europe and further afield. Speaking after an official visit to the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, the Secretary General drew attention to the Council’s work in the field of Holocaust remembrance, and emphasised that all countries and international organisations needed to do more to tackle anti-Semitism. She also drew attention to the wider problem of hate speech on the Internet, which she said required close cooperation between national governments, the Council of Europe, social media platforms and providers of Internet services. https://www.coe.int/en/web/portal/-/...ne-hate-speech |

EU racism pledge clouded by 'blackface' controversy
June 24, 2020 A pledge by the EU to make its 30,000 strong civil service more diverse was overshadowed on Wednesday by the blackface-wearing past of its top justice official. The European Commission, the EU's executive arm, wants more diversity amongst its ranks after the Black Lives Matters protests that spread from the United States to Europe raised awareness of racism. The EU is seeking ways to "increase diversity" in the commission's staff, EU vice-president Vera Jourova said, after a weekly meeting of the body's all-white cabinet. https://today.rtl.lu/news/world/a/1539215.html |

EU to have first-ever anti-racism coordinator
Sep 17, 2020 The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced on Wednesday (16 September) the priorities for the EU's upcoming anti-racism action plan. Earlier this year, the murder of George Floyd in the US brought into focus racial discrimination and police brutality also existing in Europe. Now the commission wants to identify gaps in the bloc's 2000 Race Equality Directive, especially regarding policing and law enforcement. "Hate is hate and no one should have to put up with it," von der Leyen said in her first State of the Union speech, adding that in the European Union "fighting racism will never be optional". https://euobserver.com/social/149457 |
