Default Aryan Linux 0.1

The iso for Aryan Linux 0.1 (Intel and AMD platforms only) be in it's final testing phase. Is a mere 208M distro on CD - boot from you cdrom (or usb stick) and you be browsin', skypin', movie watchin', Goyfire lisnin', 'n shit.

It has a fully operational KDE interface with a nice VNNF look. It is fully firewalled, thus secure. It has a nice wizard on startup, so your internet connection, firewall, localization settings and graphical interface be set with ease and fast.

It be linux - no virii, trojans and spyware.

Has the option to be installed on your hard drive, in case you find it useful. For version 0.2 there will be fully customized VNN icons/themes/screensavers.

The iso will be uploaded sometime Saturday/Sunday (04/05.11.2006), after final bug-testing. Screenshots will be uploaded sometime tomorrow (Friday) . Try it out and let me know what.

Top this, ubuntu niggers.

Could you please explain this for us computer dummies. What exactly is this and how does it make your computer better.

Thanks

Unfortunately, yes. I have no access to other architectures...

It is a free operation system, just like Windows (but better, faster and much more stable).

This particular linux distribution (Aryan linux) is CD based. This means you don't need a hard disk on your computer - just a CD-rom. And you can carry the CD with you. Find a computer, boot from the CD et voila. No viruses, no windowses, no restarts.

Since I think the percentage ot windows users is bigger, I've made the desktop look as much like windows as possible. It should be easy and intuitive to use.

I'll be uploading the iso file later today.

Here is a nice splash screen with a VNNF theme, for those already using KDE desktops:

VNNF.tar.gz

Still looking for a free online storage place to upload the iso to... Turns out http://box.net have upload policy of 10MB max per file. So I'll have to break it up to chunks of 10MB or, find another place to store it for download.

If anyone knows a free storage place that can be used for hosting Aryan linux, please let me know. I regret the delay.

Megaupload has ads, but they will host a file up to 500MB in size as long as people continue to download it. If no one downloads the file for thirty days, then it will be deleted.

http://www.megaupload.com

Also, this site provides a nice introduction to Unix-based operating systems like Aryan Linux.

http://unixgeeks.org/security/newbie/unix/index.html

I'm slowly working my way through those lessons, so if anyone has any questions about them, feel free to post.

Thanks for the suggestion, Tim.

megaupload, bigupload etc. are very fishy services in my opinion. Slow too.

Here is the online directory containing Aryan linux. The iso is broken in chunks of 9.9MB each.

Here is a download & re-assemble script for linux users only:

get_aryan.sh

Get it, start it in some folder, wait for it to finish, burn the iso, use.

I am currently writing the download script for windows users, will put it here latter today.

Default For Win users:

Download the self-extracting archive get_aryan.exe to a directory of your choice. Start the exe, two files will be extracted:

get_aryan.bat - the script that will download and build the final iso file
wget.exe - the download program

Wait for it to finish. When it does, there will be a folder called "aryan", and the aryan-0.1.0.iso will be inside, along with gpl.txt (The General Public License). Burn the iso on a CD and use it.

1. Start get_aryan.exe
2. Start get_aryan.bat
3. Wait.
4. Burn the resulting iso to a CD, boot from the CD, enjoy.

Somewhat of a web-page:

Aryan Linux 0.1
This is the Aryan Linux page. Aryan Linux is a LiveCD, and not a *real* distro, but rather a poor Mandriva 2005 rip-off. It is dirty and it is marked by a distinct dilletant approach, but it works. Plus, Teh GPL!~ makes it kosher! After all, niggers did butcher Debian and called it *ubuntu*, right?

Aryan Linux has a KDE 3.4.2 desktop, a 2.6.11 kernel, mplayer, licq, xchat, skype, xmms, pdf viewer, krusader file manager, konqueror browser etc.

It has also a crude wizard that helps you set your screen resolution, network connection, firewall, localization, date/time.

It has a fully functional hardware detection through udev/HAL/messagebus which works.

It is only 203 MB.

Aryan Linux can be found also here, broken in chunks. Download them, join them (join, cat). Here somewhat automated download/join scripts for Linux and Windows.

Very glad to hear that, Arktos. Thanks for the words of appreciation.

There are some problems I notice with the distro, which will be fixed in v. 0.2:

1. Doesn't detect right some Broadcom network adapters
2. Crashes on some HP PC's

I'd be glad to be told about bugs in the software, so I can fix them.

Thanks again for the nice words.

Too cool, I'm burning now. I'll give it a run on one of my machines and post the results. This is what we need, jew-free operating systems. Good work!

You what?

As a user of Unix since the days when 4MB of RAM was top-level and we managed with emacs in console to do most of the work, and as a user of Linux since almost "year dot" when it was great fun spending hours configuring X - I have to ask, what exactly is the problem here with GNU/Linux and what makes this distro "Aryan"?

So where do the packages in this "Aryan" Linux come from? Who wrote the gcc that you must use to compile stuff in the first place?

Isn't the truth that this "Aryan" Linux has taken the work of people like GNU and Linus (the all-important kernel!) plus the KDE dev team (give me FVWM anyday folks!) as the base?

How much unique coding is their in this distro? Or is it just Ubuntu (give me pure Debian anyday!) without the name and logos?

To answer the kind query, let me cite:

Quote:

So, it might've been called "Yehudi Linux", which I am sure would've pleased you plenty, but it isn't.

Quote:
"...taken the work of people like GNU and Linus..."
I don't know what to respond to that, so I won't.

Hail Hitler.

No, that name would not have pleased me

While I appreciate all your hard work and the fact that it's a live CD, the two main problems are first, and like I said earlier, why the name? There has to be something special, for us, to encourage our folks to use it - just calling it "Aryan" without any unique software or anything special is not IMO enough. Feel free to differ!

Second problem relates to trust - we know the main developers of GNU/Linux stuff (well if you hang out at the right places!) and so trust them, and know that their gnupg sig's have some meaning and that their stuff is done with the best possible intentions. At the moment, you're just a nym, here. Call me paranoid, but some trust needs to be built, surely?
