Iceland Iceland

Experts credit Iceland’s recent jump in births largely to an improved parental leave policy, which allows both mothers and fathers to take time off.

Reykjavik — Iceland last year saw its birth rate jump to 2.14 children per woman, making it Europe’s most prolific country, largely due to improved parental leave, the national statistics agency said Thursday.

“The main reason is the paternity leave implemented around 2000,” Statistics Iceland spokesman Gudjon Hauksson told AFP, adding that more advantageous compensation for both mothers and fathers on leave had also contributed to the increase.

Last year, the Atlantic island nation of some 320,000 people registered 4,835 live births — an increase of 275 babies from 2007, when the birth rate stood at 2.09 children per woman, according to the statistics office.

“Only twice in the history of Iceland have there been more children born in one year, i.e. in 1960 and 1959,” it said in a statement.

Iceland thus tops the charts as Europe’s most prolific country, coming out ahead of European Union champion France where the birth rate last year stood at 2.02 children per woman.

Iceland
April 16, 2009

Iceland is a mess. Total mess. Bankrupt, and its currency, the krona, has been abandoned by most people in the world. In Iceland, it's lost two thirds of its former value and purchasing power. Iceland is a nation that throughout its long history of 1100 years has been extremely poor, depending on fishing for its only real source of income. It also is extremely inbred, which isn't too good for the gene pool. Obviously, Iceland had no financial or investing experience. It knows how to catch fish. Looking at the Wall Street bubble, Iceland's three biggest banks, with assets of a few billion dollars, made it grow to $140 billion in three and a half years. It was called "The most rapid expansion of a banking system in the history of mankind."

These three banks were following Wall Street like a shadow, and lending money to buy stocks and real estate. While the US stock market was doubling, the Icelandic stock market went up 900%. By 2006, Reykjavik real estate prices doubled, and the average Icelandic family was three times as wealthy as it was in 2003. All this supposed 'wealth' was tied to the investment banking industry. Sound familiar? Naturally, the whole thing collapsed with a huge thud, when the three investment banks went bust last October.

Fishermen quit fishing, and the craze was to buy and sell stocks and real estate. For the past few years, many Icelanders engaged themselves in speculation, and seeming to be successful, they did what Americans and the rest of the world did. They bought things they couldn't afford...on time. Since interest on their Krona was 15.5%, why not buy euros or yen at a 3% interest rate and clean up? So they made huge loans of euros and yen. Then their korona collapsed, and they still owe for the euros and yen they bought. They now own $500,000 houses on which they owe $1.5 million, and $35,000 Range Rovers, on which they owe $100,000. There have been lots of fires in Iceland recently, to pay the bills of course. Lucky insurance companies. It will happen here, and already has to a small degree.

Iceland has lots of wonderful, glass and steel office towers and apartment buildings, which are unfinished and empty, with gobs of money owed on them. Sort of like the rest of the world, I suspect, but it happened in Iceland far quicker. The bomb went off in Iceland quickly, because it is so small, and its speculation went to such extreme heights. Walking around Manhattan, the empty stores, streets, and taxis are quite evident I hear, and the same thing is obvious in big cities and small towns everywhere. The bomb will explode later in these places outside of Iceland, but beware: Iceland might be the prototype.

Icelanders discovered that trading bits of paper isn't a productive enterprise. A handful of guys, who fancied themselves as financial experts, were taking out tens of billions of dollars in short term loans from abroad. They were then re-lending this money to themselves and their friends to buy assets, such as soccer teams, cars, homes, etc. Since the entire world's assets were rising; thanks to people of like mentality paying crazy prices for everything, the Icelanders appeared to be making money. One non-Icelandic fund manager said that its like, "You have a dog and I have a cat. We agree that they are each worth a billion dollars. You sell me the dog for a billion, and I sell you the cat for a billion. Now, we are no longer pet owners, but Icelandic banks with a billion dollars in new assets. They created fake capital by trading assets amongst themselves at inflated values." DOESN'T THAT SOUND LIKE THE REST OF THE WORLD'S FINANCIAL GENIUSES?

Iceland was and is, simply the extreme of what's going on in the rest of the world, and it came home to roost in Iceland first. When traders got a whiff of what was going to happen in Iceland, guess what they did? They went short and made a lot of money. Do we think that insiders at AIG, Citibank, and the rest of the bankruptcies, knew in advance of what troubles loomed ahead? Of course they did! Can we possibly imagine that they shorted their own companies in advance of the collapses and made tons of money? And that such bonanzas are carefully guarded in the sacrosanct walnut paneled board rooms of these holy of holies? I think there's no doubt about it.

Iceland looked so good to the rest of the world...for a time anyway...just like Madoff, that they 'invested' heavily in Iceland, with it's 15.5% interest. Germans banks put $21 billion into Iceland banks. The Netherlands gave them $305 million. Sweden kicked in $400 million. U.K. investors forked over $300 billion from various pension funds, hospitals, universities, and other public institutions. Oxford University lost $30 million. It's all so sad that 99% of the world believes things to be true, which couldn't possibly be true. That "experts" can do no wrong, and are to be trusted with wealth and surplus assets. A few years ago, and not in the current time frame at all, a local retired electrical contractor and his wife, who had bought gold eagles from me @ $301, and silver eagles @ $7.50, were lured by a fast talking 'Madoff' type, into 'investing' $100,000 in his scheme with the promise of a ten percent annual return. They tried to get me involved and even introduced him to me. I said NO, and tried to tell them that it would cost them their $100,000. It did.

See, gold and silver don't require 'trust,' and expertise to own. No degrees or licenses from experts are required to decide to buy gold and silver, which after all, are historic money throughout the ages. They're simply a way of protecting assets from the criminal inflating of the world's currencies. The dollar is not alone. Don't be fooled by the "strength" of the dollar. It is 'strong,' only in comparison to other pieces of paper, which are all being printed with merry abandon by the world's governments. People who brag about their CD making 4% rather than 2%, is like bragging that your boat has a smaller leak in it than your neighbor's, and is sinking slower.

A note about my daughter Melissa. She's doing half of the business that my son David and I are doing. Could this possibly be a sort of unconscious female prejudice? People are afraid of trusting their money with a woman? I don't know, but I can assure you that Melissa is a great gal, with a great personality, and would love to have your trades. Hope you went to a tea party! I went to two, and it was a blast. We sang the National Anthem, God Bless America, America the Beautiful, My Country Tis of Thee, saluted the flag, and had a grand time. In this town of 17,000 we had over 400 at one of them. People were driving by honking their horns and waving. It made tears run down my face. Sorry, I am a hopeless romantic, and I love America. It's the current government I hate, and both parties. If the Republicans would listen to our music and pay attention, they could take both houses at the next election, but it's doubtful they'll wise up and think straight. How sad!

Northern European countries were traditionally homogeneous. Therefore, they neither have developed street smarts nor had any need for them. Iceland, like Germany, was always good at doing what it did best.
As Shysters and others of bazaar backgrounds started seeping in, these societies were caught off-guard

In Iceland, a particularly nasty credit crunch has been followed by something akin to gender-cleansing in the corridors of power. Iceland's new female prime minister – the world's first lesbian premier – has put together a cabinet in which a record five of the 11 posts are held by women. Female CEOs have been put in charge of two of the country's rescued banks.

Mels de Zeeuw:

I’m writing to you about an issue which has infuriated me and I’m hoping that you would make a mention of it on your blog to show the dangers of the loss of freedom.

Suppose I were to tell you that in Holland you will be forced, by the government, to install a gps tracking device in your car. Every Dutch car will need to have one of these boxes installed, which will transmit information about your speed, whereabouts, the time you drove somewhere and the distance you drove. You’d think that I was a crazy conspiracy theorist…but actually this will be law in 2012 in Holland. Starting from that year Dutch drivers will need to pay 3 cents per kilometer in a tax to the government (rising to 6.7% in 2018). All in the name of countering heavy traffic and for the environment. While 2 other taxes on cars are abolished, no one seriously believes the government’s claim that it will keep tax revenue the same. This will constitute an enormous tax hike. Something which we already overtaxed Dutch people can hardly bear.

Also the government assures us that they will not look at the information gathered by the boxes. No one seriously believes this either. Keep in mind, as bad as things are in America…they are worse over here.

Bankers jailed, sued as Iceland seeks culprits for crisis
May 12 01:44 PM US/Eastern

More than a year and a half after Iceland's major banks failed, all but sinking the country's economy, police have begun rounding up a number of top bankers while other former executives and owners face a two-billion-dollar lawsuit.

Since Iceland's three largest banks -- Kaupthing, Landsbanki and Glitnir -- collapsed in late 2008, their former executives and owners have largely been living untroubled lives abroad.

But the publication last month of a parliamentary inquiry into the island nation's profound financial and economic crisis signaled a turning of the tide, laying much of the blame for the downfall on the former bank heads who had taken "inappropriate loans from the banks" they worked for.

On Wednesday, the administrators of Glitnir's liquidation announced they had filed a two-billion-dollar (1.6-billion-euro) lawsuit in a New York court against former large shareholders and executives for alleged fraud.

"I think this lawsuit is without precedence in Iceland," Steinunn Gudbjartsdottir, who chairs Glitnir's so-called winding-up board, told reporters in Reykjavik.

"It is about higher figures than we have ever seen," she said, adding that she expected Glitnir to file more lawsuits going forward, but that "it is unlikely any will be this big."

Glitnir said it was suing "Jon Asgeir Johannesson, formerly its principal shareholder, Larus Welding, previously Glitnir's chief executive, Thorstein Jonsson, its former chairman and other former directors, shareholders and third parties associates with Johannesson for fraudulently and unlawfully draining more than two billion dollars out of the bank."

The bank also said it was "taking action against its former auditors PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for facilitating and helping to conceal the fraudulent transactions engineered by Johannesson and his associates, which ultimately led to the bank's collapse in October 2008."

Glitnir's suit, filed in the New York state Supreme Court on Tuesday, blamed most of the bank's woes on "Johannesson and his co-conspirators," who had "conspired to systematically loot Glitnir Bank in order to prop up their own failing companies."

Johannesson, the former owner of the now-defunct Baugur investment group with stakes in a number of British high street stores including Hamleys, Debenhams and House of Fraser, said he was shocked by the lawsuit.

"The distortions and the nonsense in the lawsuit are incredible," he told the Pressan news website.

Glitnir's administrators "can get a 10-year-prison sentence for misusing US courts in this manner," he insisted.

The bank's chief administrator Gudbjartsdottir took his comments in stride.

"I didn't expect him to be happy with the lawsuit," she said.

In addition to its New York suit, Glitnir said it had "secured a freezing order from the High Court in London against Jon Asgeir Johannesson's worldwide assets, including two apartments in Manhattan's exclusive Gramercy Park neighbourhood for which he paid approximately 25 million dollars."

Gudbjartsdottir said Johannesson had just 48 hours to come up with a satisfactory list of his assets.

"If he does not give the right information he faces a jail sentence," she said.

Four former Kaupthing executives, who all live in Luxembourg, have meanwhile been arrested in Iceland in the past week and Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant for that bank's ex-chairman, Sigurdur Einarsson.

Former head of the bank's domestic operations, Ingolfur Helgason, and former chief risk officer Steingrimur Karason were arrested late Monday on arrival from Luxembourg, just days after former Kaupthing boss Hreidar Mar Sigurdsson, along with Magnus Gudmunsson, who headed the bank's unit in Luxembourg, were taken into custody.

The 49-year-old Einarsson, who lives in London, said late Tuesday he had no plans to travel to Iceland to be arrested.

"I'm absolutely flabbergasted about the latest news," he told the Frettabladid daily.

"There is in my opinion no need for the arrests or custody rulings, and I will not of my own free will take part in the play that it appears is being staged to soothe the Icelandic people," he said.

"I'll put the human rights I enjoy here in Britain to the test and will not therefore come home (to Iceland) to these conditions without being forced," he added.

I love how clowns like the individual cited above make unsubstantiated and incorrect claims about the racial health of the Icelandic people.

Unlike most racially filthy white Americans, Icelanders belong to a genetic isolate and have a long history of racial integrity. Inbreeding is and have historically been non-existent.

It looks as if Iceland is about to get a little colder.

Iceland's government is considering a sweeping ban on Internet pornography that would prevent its people from viewing or downloading x-rated material.

The legislation, being drafted by Interior Minister Ogmundur Jonasson, aims to block the effects of pornography on young people by filtering access to pornographic images and videos via smartphones, computers and game consoles, according to the Telegraph.

Sidestepping cries of censorship, Ogmundur, who is affiliated with the country's Left-Green Movement, a left-wing political party, pointed at the larger social problems he claims porn causes, stating that "violent pornography... has a very harmful effect on young people and can have a clear link to incidences of violent crime."

A law forbidding the printing and distribution of pornography is already on the books in Iceland, but Ogmundur's proposal would extend the ban to the Internet, according to the Telegraph. Methods for the ban being considered include enacting laws making it illegal to use Icelandic credit cards to purchase porn, and filtering out pornographic IP addresses.

"If we can send a man to the moon, we must be able to tackle porn on the Internet," Halla Gunnarsdóttir, political advisor to Ogmundur, told The Daily Mail. Despite what the denizens of Internet's seedier quadrants might think, Halla claimed that the proposed legislation isn't anti-sex.

"It is anti-violence because young children are seeing porn and acting it out. That is where we draw the line. This material is blurring the boundaries for young people about what is right and wrong," Halla said.

Iceland has already outlawed strip clubs, a move which led The Guardian to proclaim Iceland a global leader in feminism in 2010.

While Icelandic politicians clearly have their reasons for seeking a ban on online pornography, Gizmodo used the Nordic country's prospective distinction as the first Western democracy to ban Internet porn as pretext to include it in a less-than-laudable league of nations: "By banning access to internet porn, Iceland will join countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and other temples of democracy widely known to protect women and children rights."

However, Mashable provided some counterbalance to censorship arguments, tapping Gail Dines, a professor of sociology and women’s studies at Wheelock College in Boston, Mass., who chimed in support for the ban.

"It is looking at pornography from a new position — from the perspective of the harm it does to the women who appear in it and as a violation of their civil rights," Dines told Mashable. "It also approaches porn from the point of view of children who are having their sexuality hijacked at a young age by brutal sexual imagery."

This isn't the first time Ogmundur has taken a stance on a controversial issue. In fact, since returning to Iceland's cabinet in 2011, after having resigned as health minister in 2009, Ogmundur has championed the banning of online gambling and has accused Israel of genocide against Palestinians, according to English-language Icelandic new site Grapevine.

Default The Black Plight has made its entrance into Iceland

Note: attached pictures are found at the bottom of this post

This mess started in 1995 when the Cuban Negro Julian Duranona was brought into Iceland to play handball for the Akureyri team.
(image 1)

There were plenty of Icelanders who could have played as well or better than him, but apparently the team managers wanted a more "progressive" image for the team. The next foolishness was when the Althing granted him citizenship in 1996. He showed his gratitude the next year by leaving to play handball for Germany, bringing in his brother Israel to play handball back in Iceland in his place. Finally the stupid Icelander Laufey Ingibjartsdottur met this second Negro and married him in 2002. Iceland's viking ancestors would have burned her at the stake as a witch.

Shortly after they were married, the Negro refused to let his wife contact her family, took her phone away and threatened her parents. She threw away 1100 years of her heritage when she became pregnant with his twin Negroes in 2005. She gave birth to the future criminals Julius and Joel in May of 2005. (image 2)

They were baptized at the Icelandic National Church in Akranes. After they were born, Israel allowed Laufey to contact her family again.

Not long after Laufney's parents helped them establish a new home, the Negro again restricted contact by Laufey with her parents. Laufney's father made hand built toy cars for the twins' birthday. When Israel saw what what he had given them, he laughed and threw them away. (image 3)

Laufey filed for divorce in 2009. Just after they had signed the divorce papers in October, Israel asked if he could drive her to work at the Ministry of Agriculture. Israel got a pot from the kitchen while Laufey was in the bathtub. He beat her in the head with it until the handle broke. The only thing that kept him from killing her was that the pan had hit the wall first before it struck her head. Thinking that she was dead, he called 112 and told the police that he had just murdered his wife. He then committed suicide before he could be arrested by drinking "Stíflueyđir" drain cleaner. This contains concentrated sulphuric acid. (image 4)

Not a very smart way to kill yourself.

It cost the Icelandic taxpayer at least 1 million ISK in hospital treatment for Laufey after her Negro tried to beat her head in with a frying pan. That money could have been used to save an Icelander from loss of their home after the Icesave disaster. Laufney eventually recovered from her head injuries but was diagnosed with cancer in January of 2011. She died from it in May of 2011. (some studies have shown a link between severe head trauma and brain cancer)

The real tragedies here are not the dead Icelander or the dead Negro. The real tragedies are the two little Negro criminals who will have to be educated by the Icelandic taxpayer. When they get out of school, there is a high probability they will have to be supported by the public while they lounge on unemployment. And this is assuming they do not go to prison, which is not a remote possibility, costing the taxpayer even more. ( in the USA, for example, 1 in every 7 black young adult males between the ages of 18-30 is in in jail or prison on any given day) They should be deported before they can violate Icelandic girls.

Thordis Ingibjartsdottir is collecting money to raise the little monsters that her senseless sister brought into the world. She expects the Icelandic people to donate to pay for Laufey having sex with a Negro. Thordis has been raising them after Laufey died. The twins' Negro uncle Julian has made a considerable sum of money playing for the Spanish handball team Castellón. He could repay the kindness shown to him by Iceland and take care of his brother's two offspring. Or the offspring could go live with their grandparents in Cuba. But neither Julian nor the grandparents have expressed any interest in taking responsibility.

This is from the obituary:

died in the Hrinbraut hospital on Tuesday 17 May. The funeral will be at Akranes church Friday 27 May at 14:00. The family requests than no flowers or wreaths be sent. A special account has been established on the Landsbanki in Akranes in support of her sons, the twins Julius and Joel, who are 5 years old. The account number is 0186-05-570562 and Kennitala is 050642-4299.

This is certainly not the only African endangering Icelanders.

The Negro Chigozie Anoruo from Nigeria was let into Iceland and given citizenship in 2004. He repaid Iceland by sticking a knife in the throat of one of our countrymen in a bar fight. Now the taxpayer will have to support him in prison for two years. No more Negroes should be allowed in and the ones who are there should be expediently sent back to where ever they came from.

Default Iceland says no to the EU as new government shelves talks with Brussels

Quote:
The leader of the center-right Progressive Party was chosen as Iceland's new prime minister Wednesday and promptly announced a halt to talks with the European Union about joining the 27-nation bloc.

Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson spoke about the policy shift at a press conference after being selected premier.

'The government intends to halt negotiations between Iceland and the European Union,' he said. 'We will not hold further negotiations with the European Union without prior referendum.'

Iceland Jews are left out in the cold (from 2011)

Though it numbers under 100 members, Iceland does have a Jewish community, and even a Jewish first lady. Some of them, however, say they're afraid to identify themselves publicly as such.

REYKJAVIK - Even in this tiniest of Jewish communities, the Jews can't seem to agree. And in this case, the issue happens to be quite fundamental: Do they really want to be recognized as Jews?

On the one hand, applying for official recognition as a religion would make the Jews of Iceland eligible for state funding that could finally allow them to have their own place to worship, not to mention a Torah scroll and kosher food on the holidays. On the other hand, as American-born Mike Levin, the minuscule community's unofficial spokesman, notes, it could also open a can of worms.

"First, we would need to get everyone to sign a document saying they're Jewish, and I'm not sure everybody here would be willing to do something like that," he says. "Then, you've got to decide who becomes the leader of the community, who becomes the treasurer, and who becomes the official representative next time there's a big crisis in the Middle East and the media want some questions answered."

Depending on how you define a Jew, by most accounts, there are no more than 50 to 100 of them in this island-nation. Even considering that Iceland's total population is barely 300,000, that's still a drop in the bucket. The overwhelming majority of Icelanders belong to the Church of Iceland, which is Lutheran, but in recent years, other religions, among them Islam and Buddhism, have earned official recognition, prompting the Jewish community to consider its options.

The question has gained particular relevancy in recent months, with Chabad setting its sights on this land of geysers and glaciers, volcanos and Vikings. This past spring, Rabbi Berel Pewzner, a Chabad emissary, made a trip to Reykjavik to organize a Passover seder. Not knowing where to begin looking for Jews, he put an ad in the local newspaper inviting any and all members of the faith to attend.

"It was the first kosher seder ever held in Iceland, and we had more than 50 people join us," Pewzner recounts. Encouraged by the response, he returned in September to organize services and meals for the High Holy Days. "We had our first minyan here since World War II, and for many of those who came, it was first time they ever heard a shofar."

Among the Jews of Iceland, you'll find Americans, Israelis and even a handful of Australians, Russians and South Americans. Most are here because they married Icelanders. For example, Mike Levin, who grew up in Chicago, met his Icelandic wife at music school in Vienna and has been living in Reykjavik, where he runs a catering business, since 1986. Ever since he moved here, Levin has taken it upon himself to organize get-togethers two or three times a year on the Jewish holidays. "I have two kids, and I wanted them to have some sort of Jewish experience," he explains.

In recent years, his partner in this effort has been Israeli Sigal Har-Meshi, who grew up in Ashkelon but has also been living in Iceland on and off since 1986. She first came for a job in the fishing industry, as many post-army Israelis did in those days, so that she could earn some money to travel the world. At the factory where she worked, both she and her sister met their future husbands. Although she is by no means observant, Har-Meshi says she welcomes Chabad's incursion into Iceland. "It would be a lot less work for Mike and me, if Chabad were here," says the mother of three, who works as a cook in a hotel.

'Jews don't celebrate Christmas?'

About 10 years ago, for the first time in its history, Iceland began to draw serious numbers of migrants, particularly from Eastern Europe and the Arab world. As Har-Meshi only half-jokingly remarks, the new arrivals from her part of the world have been quite a welcome sight, making her feel less of an outsider in her adopted homeland, even though support for the Palestinian cause - and by definition, hostility to Israel - is widespread here. "For me, just to see other people with brown eyes has been really nice."

Does she miss Israel? "I miss my mother," she responds, and after a long pause: "Of course I miss Israel. What do you think?"

Glenn Barkan, who hails from Long Island, owns Cafe Babalu, a trendy meeting spot for students and artists in downtown Reykjavik, where the most popular item on the menu is New York cheesecake - based on his grandmother's recipe. Barkan says he's never encountered outright anti-Semitism in the seven years he's lived in Iceland, though he has found most Icelanders to be quite ignorant about Judaism. "I get a lot of people who say to me, 'What, you mean the Jews don't celebrate Christmas?' 'What, you mean the Jews don't believe in Jesus?'"

Barkan moved to Iceland to join his Icelandic boyfriend, who was unable to obtain U.S. citizenship. The two held what was probably the first-ever same-sex marriage on the island, if not in the world, that incorporated Viking, Christian and Jewish elements. "We had a woman priest who recited the seven blessings in Hebrew under the chuppah and then a room full of 200 Icelanders shouting 'Mazal tov' and 'Lehayim.' It was quite the scene."

The Hanukkah menorah his mother recently sent him from home is displayed prominently on a shelf in the cafe amid an assortment of tchotchkes. With that holiday still approaching when he spoke with Haaretz, Barkan said he was planning to add potato latkes to his seasonal menu - though not exactly the type his mother used to make: "My mom would stick broccoli in her latkes to get me to eat vegetables. I'm certainly not gonna subject my customers to that."

A self-described '60s radical from New York, Hope Knutsson has probably been in Iceland longer than any other Jew today, and is fondly referred to by Barkan as "the matriarch of the Jewish community." Knutsson, who feels uncomfortable with this epithet ("I see myself as a Jew only by ethnicity" ) prefers the title of "keeper of the list" - that is, the list of the Jews.

"In 1969, I decided to take a trip to Europe, so I booked a flight on Icelandic Airways, which was the hippie airline in those days. I did a 24-hour stopover in Iceland and was blown away," she recalls. "It looked like another planet, I was almost expecting dinosaurs to appear. Beyond that, it was such a sane society. So I decided I had to move here."

But first she had to find herself a "Viking husband," as she puts it. "I started hanging out at the Icelandic Airways terminal at JFK Airport and told people what I was up to. One day someone comes up to me and says 'We found you your Viking.' He was an employee of the airline, and we got married a year later."

Knutsson, who has two grown children, has been living in Iceland since the early 1970s and today serves as president of the Icelandic Ethical Humanist Association, an organization that promotes civil confirmation ceremonies and separation of church and state.

Although she speaks with pride of her adopted homeland, she does not dismiss or make light of charges of anti-Semitism here. "It certainly exists. There is still lots of xenophobia here," she says.

In one incident several years ago, a camera crew that had filmed a boy undergoing preparations for his bar mitzvah had a swastika painted on its van the following day. More recently, the owner of a bike shop downtown had a sign posted outside his door that read: "No Jews Wanted." In recent years, Levin says, any time he is asked to attend an event as a representative of the Jewish community, he insists on having a bodyguard accompany him.

Ignorance may be partly to blame for these incidents, according to Knutsson. Several years ago, the Icelandic national theater company was staging a revival of "Fiddler on the Roof" and, as she recalls, "they asked if they could come to our seder to see what real Jews look like."

South of the circle

The number of Icelandic Jews living outside Reykjavik can barely be counted on one hand. Guy Gutraiman, born and raised in Nes Ziona, near Tel Aviv, is one of them. Together with his Icelandic wife and baby daughter, he lives in the tiny fishing village of Olafsvik on the tip of the western peninsula, about a three-hour drive from Reykjavik via mainly gravel roads. Through his website, www.iceland.co.il, he books tours to Iceland for Hebrew speakers.

"I get lots of Israelis who've seen a lot of the world and are looking for something different," he says. "Especially since the volcano erupted here in 2010, there's been lots of interest." Still, he says, it's a lonely life for an Israeli. "I really have no friends here, so I try my best to take a trip back home at least twice a year."

Jacob and Andrea Kasper, one of the only fully Jewish couples in Iceland, live in an even more remote corner of the island, around 30 miles south of the Arctic Circle. They moved to Iceland in 2008, when Jacob enrolled in a graduate program in coastal marine management in the Western Fjords, and a year ago, relocated to the tiny fishing village of Skagastrond, where Jacob is employed at the Marine Research Institute as an expert on lumpfish. Their two toddlers both speak three languages: English, Icelandic and Hebrew.

Andrea, who was born in Israel and spent many years in the United States, Japan and Panama, recently returned from a trip to the Jewish Futures Conference in Denver, where she received an award for a Jewish vocational high school project she conceived - quite a distinction for a representative of a community that has no formal Jewish educational programs to speak of. She is now busy working on her doctorate in Jewish education , conducting most of her research from her little house here at the end of the road where on very cold nights, there are spectacular views of the northern lights - and on Friday evenings, traditional Shabbat dinners are served with her home-baked challah.

Ever since she moved to Iceland, Andrea has tried to take an active role in the Jewish community, urging its members to come out of their hideouts. Her calls, however, have fallen largely on deaf ears: "Just because there's a lot of support for the Palestinian cause out here, I don't see that as a reason to maintain low visibility. If anything, the Jews should be speaking up and explaining the issues."

Recently, she tried to gather data on the Jews of Iceland for a survey she was conducting . "Nobody wanted to participate. 'What do you need this information for?' they'd ask," she says. "They were all afraid."

The fear may not be totally ungrounded. After all, Iceland doesn't have a particularly good history with the Jews. In the 1930s, when Jews were trying to flee Germany, Iceland not only refused to open its doors, but most of the Jews who had already moved to its shores were deported. The trauma of those years is not easily erased, even today when Iceland is the only country in the world outside of Israel to have a Jewish first lady - and an Israeli at that.

Jerusalem-born Dorrit Moussaieff married President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson in 2003, after the death of his first wife. Known to be an outgoing, even flamboyant, woman, Moussaieff, daughter of the prominent London jeweler and antiquities collector Shlomo Moussiaeff, is quite a hit among most Icelanders, but for whatever reason, has chosen to keep her distance from the Jews. "She never once reached out to us," says Levin.

Har-Meshi adds that neither has she responded to numerous invitations to participate in Jewish celebrations.

So is Chabad the answer? Pewzner says he will soon be back and the ultimate plan is to establish a formal Jewish community in Reykjavik with a center for meetings and prayers, kosher food and a Sunday school.

Having been raised as a Reform Jew, Mike Levin is not completely comfortable with the recent overtures from Chabad, but as he puts it, "We take what we can get here."

Default In Iceland for a month. Claiming political asylum to write a book. Will comment on Iceland from now on.

After being in the country for a couple of weeks, I was interviewed by a reporter from the nation’s most widely read news paper. The reporter pretty well got it all right, except the undertones making it sound like I never left my tent..., which on the whole given the weather, magnetic shift, 24 hours of daylight, a slight cold I had caught (since gone) and jet lag..., was not that far from the mark either. Here is the link:

http://vefblod.visir.is/index.php?netpaper=2281

He was quite plain spoken and hit all the bases regarding persecution by prosecution in Canada if you tell the truth about Jews, being jailed in Germany for the same, etc...

Then when you look at some of the blogs the article generated:

http://gorgeir.blog.is/blog/gorgeir/entry/1301512/

the responses, aside from the obvious mental midget, are fair to favourable.

Since the article came out, I have had quite a few people approach me and a lot of doors have opened up to me.

Icelanders, especially the men are being feminized. Instead of a pots and pans revolution, which the "international press" applauded, they should have had a pitch fork and sickle revolution.

It seems that a lot of posters seem hung up on "the number" of Jews in Iceland when IMO it is not the number that counts but their relative strength.

Freemasons are notorious for doing the Jews' dirty work for them. I believe that this Secret Society, as well as many other societies the world over is clandestinely controlled by the Rothschild family of criminal Jews.
They are infamous for seeking the weakest members of society, inflating their importance and getting them to act as front men in the destruction of the large frontal lobed competitive white males.
The freemasons have representative "Temples" not only in down town Reykjavik, but in many of Iceland's "major (if you can call them that) cities".
The formula is the same one the Jews have employed in Canada. The first smaller brained Third Worlders brought into the country are the cream of the crop of their sub-species back home and they are placed in the front lines of daily commerce (gas station attendants, fast food outlets, taxi drivers, sports personalities, and even told to just hang out in plain view of the commuting public in the main bus depot.
This is the acclimatization phase of the replacement process.

My first impression of Icelanders is that besides the men being emasculated in general, due to all the usual reasons (Jew promotion of homosexuality, the need for "tolerance" in the face of economic necessity [in specific; tourism], single motherhood being promoted as a "normal" thing, Viking males being encouraged to swapping their axes for iphones and musical instruments, and textile and hair fashion replacing high seas whaling and open boat fishing...) Icelanders are an unusually honest and trusting lot.

They are not mentally equipped to deal with elements of society (Jews) that are underhanded, cunning, deceptive, flattering, and who encourage habits that are self-destructive. I also do not believe that Icelanders are as smart as their IQ statistics make them out to be, or at least they are low on the EQ (emotional Quotient) scale.

In truth, the process started a lot earlier when they started allowing poles into their midst during the "economic boom" years leading up to the banker bail outs (that they claim never took place, but in reality are an ongoing process).

The Jews did the same thing to German in the 70's. Claiming and economic miracle due to the Marshal Plan and an upwardly mobile German youth who would not do certain jobs, the Jews successfully got Turks into the country on a "temporary basis".

How many of these Turks were actually crypto-Jews and how many of these Poles were actually Masonic Mafia members one cannot really say, however, crime has gone up, gang graffiti is proliferating, and foreigners are increasingly looked at as a source of tourism income.

This is also a lie. The bulk of tourists coming, use Jew related infrastructures and the average Icelander sees proportionately less of this money trickling down to him/her.

I must confess however, I have somehow fallen in love with Iceland...
My own ancestors were financial supporters of the Protestant Reformation and very big supporters of free speech. The fact that Iceland is "officially" 80% Lutheran can be felt in the wide eyed honesty and self-restraint exhibited by so many of the population. The change from the Freemasonic Anglo-Jew infested shit hole of theft and gang-stalking in Hamilton, Ontario is like a blast of fresh air!
As a "fairly young 50ish guy", here on a bike as a loaded tourer, and the body of a gymnast that refrained from the usual self-destructive lifestyle that the baby boomers succumbed to, I do well in bridging the gap between the younger generation and the old timers here so I get a pretty good perception of life in the capital.
One thing the Icelanders must be made alert to is to not believe the flattering press reports about themselves as it causes them to let down their guard.

The International Jew loves it when people think of themselves as superior because while they bask in their own glory he does his best undermining work.

Default Just do not Blame the Negress

The woman is definitely not to blame here..., she is a mere pawn in the game.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the Jewish trickle down power structure and the Castrated Icelandic Freemasonic cocksuckers of the Jews. Moreover, if Icelandic men were not busy blow drying their hair, texting their fashion consultants and strumming forlorn ballads on their guitars and instead cutting the heads off these treasonous power mongers and taking back control of their own country, then the bleeding heart women might not be so high mindedly giving away the country to a bunch of Asians, Africans and Latinos.

I know this Negro woman and have personally stopped going to that Bonus store because her "friendliness" is so "...In your face loud.." that I find it to be a embarrassing. She knows I speak English and uses me as a kind of target to be "obnoxiously-loud-friendly" upon. Such a loud and overpowering friendliness is almost like taunting the cowardly Icelander by saying, "I dare you to speak out against me..., look how loud and friendly I am and the management supports me, so I dare you to speak out against me". This Negress is a typical Talmudic mass psychosis by proxy device.

It is plainly obvious she has the support of the Establishment Masonic Jewish power structure. Just look at how the Icelanders in line look down at the floor in submissive fear while the negress has a triumphant grin of victory. Icelanders cower in fear of standing up to the 1 to 2 % of the population that controls the countries economy.

If instead of a pots and pans reLOVEution, Icelanders would have had a broad axes and harpoons RETRIBution, then maybe the negress would stop her incessantly annoying grinning and obnoxious jabbering and the Icelanders would stand tall and proud in line.

Default Iceland may be my new home.

I'm currently in the process of relocating from Hungary to Iceland. My once proud nation is completely run by a small viscous band of Jews. I will live in Iceland until the revolution starts.

Default Tents in foal with feet to storm Iceland, pushing strollers:

From Iceland, you can flee again to the Faroe Islands, since Iceland is getting en masse overrun, as race traitors turn over their women to undergo a sequel of rape and murder which takes place elsewhere in Scandinavia:

Icelandic Interior Minister Quits After Immigration Scandal

Iceland’s minister of the interior quit on Friday after her assistant was convicted last week of illegally leaking information about an asylum seeker to media a year ago.

Gisli Freyr Valdorsson had admitted to leaking information about Nigerian Tony Omos, who was due to be deported last year when a protest began to keep him in the country, and was given a two year suspended sentence.

The North Atlantic island of 320,000 people had 79 refugees and 279 asylum seekers as of January 2014, according to UNHCR, the United Nations refugee agency.

Thumbs up Iceland's capital votes to boycott all Israeli products

passed a resolution Tuesday stating the municipality will boycott all products made in Israel, a move blasted in Israel as a “volcano of hate.”

The Iceland Magazine reported on its web site that the measure was put forward by Bjork Vilhelmsdottir, a councilwoman with the Social Democratic Alliance, who is retiring from politics.

According to the report, the motion states that the city of Reykjavik will boycott Israeli goods “as long as the occupation of Palestinian territories continues.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nachshon responded to the move by saying that “a volcano of hate exploded in the building of the Reykjavik municipality.”

Without any “reason or justification, except for pure hatred, calls were heard to boycott the state of Israel. We hope that someone in Iceland will wake up and put an end to this blindness and one-sidedness that is demonstrated toward Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East.”

The wife of Iceland's President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, Dorrit Moussaieff, is Israeli. She was born in Jerusalem, and lived there until 13, when she moved to Britain. She married Grimsson in 2003.

The Icelandic Magazine reported that the municipality’s decision has “caused some controversy,” with a local attorney named Einar Gautur Steingrímsson claiming the move violates the Icelandic constitution.

One of Jerusalem's arguments about EU moves to label settlement products is that it is a slippery slope that will lead to the banning of all Israeli products.

Iceland dumps proposed ban on male circumcision

After a three-month national debate and lobbying from all over the world, a parliamentary committee in Iceland has shelved a proposed ban on male circumcision. The penalty for performing or organising a circumcision would have been a sentence of up to six years in prison.

Rabbis to the rescue: the fight against Iceland’s circumcision ban

June 9, 2018

RIGA – European Jewish leaders hailed a victory this week over a bid by Icelandic parliamentarians to criminalize non-medical circumcision of boys, which moved Jewish communities in Europe to mobilize to prevent what could have been the beginning of a wave of legislation across the continent to outlaw the ancient religious practice of brit mila.

Last week, Iceland’s Judicial Affairs and Educational Committee recommended scrapping the bill, which would have made the country the only country in Europe to outlaw non-medical circumcision of boys under 18.
