Theresa May WILL stop EU migrants from claiming benefits under new post-Brexit plan

According to The Times, the Government believes the move will reduce financial pressures by cutting the tax credit bill while also stifle the number of workers coming to the UK from Europe following Brexit.

But a Downing Street source told the paper there was no 'magic bullet for migration' and that nothing had been finalised.

It is thought at least 300,000 of the two-million-plus EU migrants living the in UK claim in-work benefits, according to government statistics.

Mrs May previously said 'change has got to come' in a speech last October while discussing the effects of low-skilled migrants working in jobs while British workers have their hours or pay cut or lose jobs altogether.

The move comes as the Government was warned workers will feel 'betrayed' if Britain does not take control of its borders after it quits the EU.

Explanation to any non-British Islanders who might wonder why this is such a big deal: "Tax credits" mean that non-British Islanders need earn very little in order to be bestowed with all manner of taxpayer largesse - extra tens of thousands of pounds, "free" dentistry, medicines, rent, childcare, sumptious holidays/reparations back to the EU, etc, and a mere token local rate tax charge.
