Cool, I liked that album Coda. One side was old songs from the early years and one side was newer songs from later years. Many folks don't give it a listen cause it was put out after the drummer died. I figured it was made up with songs that were cut during editing.

I really should give a call to ya on FTL.

Maybe it's outfits like this that made Zep such pariahs with the Rolling Stone lefties, eh?

I must admit, never seen Page in that outfit, very interesting.
Cool guitar. I knew someone who had one. He was a collector, not a player.

Glad you like the pic. Check the official Zeppelin site below and click on "Goodies" for an awesome screensaver (I use it). And have your speakers on when you click on the link.

Led Zeppelin's interest in folk music and mythology grew, and this interest was evident on their fourth album, released in late 1971. Although it was untitled, it is commonly referred to as Led Zeppelin IV. Featuring the mystical, Battle of Evermore, Black Dog, and the now-classic Stairway to Heaven. This album was their most diverse yet. The album never reached number one, but it was their biggest seller, and Stairway to Heaven was a quick radio hit and eventually became a legendary classic rock ballad, (generally regarded as the greatest song in classic rock music), despite their refusal to release any of their songs as singles.
I don't know what to make of that line. Except that it's wrong. Stairway to Heaven wasn't released as a single, but Black Dog, from the same album, was. I have it. I also have the singles for Whole Lotta Love, D'yer Mak'er, Immigrant Song and Fool in the Rain.

That's interesting. I had heard the same about Zep and the singles, but I guess once again, having jews present our history results in inaccuracies.

Hey, here's another bit of trival: I used to have Robert Plant hair, just as blond, just as long and just as curly as his. I also could play rings around page. All the girls appreciated this.

Just another interesting bit of trivia about your friens Subrosa

From Wikipedia:

Led Zeppelin III has a unique album cover, as it features a wheel which, when rotated, displayed various images through cutouts in the main jacket sleeve. In November of 1970, Atlantic Records released "Immigrant Song" as a single against the band's wishes (Atlantic had earlier released an edited version of "Whole Lotta Love" which cut the 5:34 song to 3:10, removing the abstract middle movement). It included their only non-album b-side, "Hey Hey What Can I Do". Even though the band saw their albums as indivisible and statements about the band at the particular time — and their manager, Peter Grant, maintained an aggressive pro-album stance — nine other singles were released. The group also spurned television appearances.

How 'bout this one, General? One of my favorite covers. We didn't have a keyboard player to synth the sounds but we still did a pretty good job

Yes, and now should I play for you the great song of the resistance, as sung by most honored Mahmomad Al-Masri. Even the accursed jewish pigs play it! Please to enjoy.

Allah Akbar!

Those tunes are timeless masterpieces, especially Rain Song.

At one time someone released a recording of the Gilligan's Island theme sung to the tune of Stairway to Heaven. Zepplin got a court injunction and the grievous record disappeared. But I guess even Zepplin wasn't powerful enough to stop the Tiny Tim juggernaught. Enjoy.

EDIT: Whaddya know, it's there! Damn, I love YouTube.

My pick... easy, Led! Mick Jaggar has admitted gay sex with David Bowie. Enough for me to not like the Stones.

Mick Jagger never admitted that, it was a story told by his ex-wife and he threatened to sue her if she didn't shut up about it, but no he has never actually admitted that the fucking Bowie event ever happened.

My memory plays tricks on me, I somehow have a feeling there have been a few more great rockbands.

But if we compare these two, there is a similarity: They reached their peak and held it for about five albums. Only that in case of LZ there was nothing else, apart from some uninteresting "Best-ofs" and live-revordings.

The Stones made several dozen more albums. But in their best period they let out a string of absolute masterpieces, like "Let it Bleed", "Beggar's Banquet" and "Exile on Main Street", to never reach this level again.

I found a interesting site that has the sessions of Led Zeppelin. On Led Zeppelin I you can hear Steve Winwood on organ during the song Babe I'm Gonna Leave You.
