Default Germany Loyalists = Neo-Nazis

Germany refocuses on neo-Nazi threat

BERLIN — Until the discovery last year that a string of unsolved killings had been perpetrated by neo-Nazis, few in Germany considered far-right extremism a major threat.

After the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States, security agencies around the world poured energy into fighting Islamist terrorism, and Germany did so with special urgency because several of the hijackers had lived in Hamburg. But the shift led to the neglect of other types of homegrown violence in this nation of 82 million people, critics now say, allowing a neo-Nazi movement to flourish.

Although security services were keeping an eye on neo-Nazi groups, official assessments declared that the threat of right-wing terrorism was insignificant. But while resources were being concentrated on Islamist extremism, a small cell of neo-Nazis went undetected while it killed 10 people, nine of them with immigrant backgrounds, over seven years.

Police never suspected a right-wing connection — they found it only after the neo-Nazis virtually dropped into their laps after a bungled bank robbery. Last week, Germany installed a new head of its equivalent to the FBI. He has sworn to overhaul the country’s intelligence services.

Monitoring Islamist terrorism and other threats can be a difficult balance in any country, with shootings Aug. 5 at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin only the latest reminder. There, police say, Wade Michael Page, with ties to “white power” groups, killed six people before turning his gun on himself.

In Germany, “our institutions didn’t have right-wing terrorism on their screens,” Sebastian Edathy, a member of Germany’s Parliament who is leading an inquiry into the intelligence failures, said in an interview. “Society has focused over the last 10 years on the threat of Islamist extremism, but this is not the only extremist threat that we’re facing.”

The string of killings was underway by Sept. 11, 2001, and the slayings continued as Germany turned its attention away from neo-Nazis. A 2006 intelligence overhaul merged offices dealing with left-wing and right-wing extremism, in part to free resources to fight al-Qaeda and Islamist terrorism.

The focus had shifted so thoroughly by last year that a 473-page annual intelligence report by Germany’s Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, roughly equivalent to the FBI, said that “no structures of right-wing terrorism were detectable.”

It was released not long before the neo-Nazi cell was discovered.

‘No political will’

As for the killings, police initially said that they probably were part of an underworld dispute among Turkish crime gangs, and media dubbed them the “doener murders,” after a popular Turkish kebab sandwich. The final victim was officer Michele Kiesewetter, slain in April 2007, who police theorize may have been targeted so that her attackers could secure another weapon.

The gang is also alleged to have committed more than a dozen bank robberies and the bombing of a hair salon in an immigrant neighborhood of Cologne. But until the dramatic discovery of arms in the neo-Nazis’ home in southeastern Germany after a bungled bank robbery in November — weapons that linked them to the killings — police had not zeroed in on a racist motivation for the deaths.

So, nine muds are killed over the course of seven years, and it makes big news. Of course, no ruckus is ever made over the torrents of mud-instigated crime.

Can't say I really blame the average white person.

I was a hell of a lot happier before I knew what it was like living in the crosshairs of the Demon Seed.

Neo-Nazi flash mobs strike German cities, aim to become 'immortal' on YouTube

The Immortals, a new German neo-Nazi group, storm the streets by the hundreds at night, brandishing torches and carrying banners decrying multiculturalism.

A German neo-Nazi group has been harnessing 21st century technology to stage terrifying flash-mob protests that echo the fascist torch rallies of the 1930s -- and then make them go viral.

In a demonstration on May 1st in Bauzen, Germany hundreds of black-clad figures with white masks suddenly converged in a street carrying torches and signs with extreme nationalist slogans, then dissipated before a major police presence could arrive, according to Germany's Die Zeit newspaper.

The scene evokes the days of the Third Reich, when the Nazi SA would march with torches held high during night rallies as they saluted Hitler, according to Die Zeit.

A group calling themselves 'Die Unsterblichen' (The Immortals) has been orchestrating these kinds of flash mobs in cities all over Germany for the past several months, according to CNN. Several videos of their spontenous protests can be found on YouTube, some of them with tens of thousands of views.

The Nazis were masters of showmanship and symbolism, using them to stir up monstrous crowds.

Most of the videos end with a chilling slogan -- 'Make your short life immortal,' or 'So that those to come don't forget that you were German.'

The high-tech mob organizes their marches via text message so authorities don’t know where they’ll turn up next, CNN reported. The group's website encourages others to organize similar flash mob demonstrations, in order to 'become immortal.'

The group uses an outdated word - 'Volkstod' - on their signs, the newspaper noted, intentionally harking back to the days of the national socialism. It's a turn of phrase that neo-Nazis use to describe what they perceive as the degredation of the German race taking place under democratic government.

A Neo-Nazi group in the state of Brandenburg called 'Spreelichter' first came up with the idea of organizing flash mob protests in 2009, according to Die Zeit. The group was banned by state authorities the earlier this summer.

The homes of more than a dozen known neo-Nazis have been raided by police in hopes of finding the group’s central leadership – if there is any to be found.

Dr. Hajo Funke, a professor at the Free University of Berlin, told CNN he believes the Immortals are hoping to attract young people to their cause with the dramatic and viral displays.

“It’s a very simple idea: Put masks on your faces and represent the danger to the people,” he told CNN.

When Germans lost the war, they also lost any right to disagree with their new government. If they didn't wear masks, they would all be in prison.

That statement is astoundingly ignorant of truth. 1) It is a felony to practice of possess anything Nazi related in Germany. 2) I remember seeing numerous non-liberal gatherings in DC and marches (defended by the ACLU, by the way) . Guess I must be insane.

For how many days is the DN going to run this story about a non-violent parade? Meanwhile, they still can't bring themselves to admit that the rioters in Amiens are Muslims. (And where's THAT story now, Mr. Editor?) Rioters, who, unlike these guys in Germany, are causing real damage and real injuries. For decades now, the West has been allowing easy immigration from Muslim lands. We were all looking for cheap labor, as most Muslims are uneducated. THEY, on the other hand, were looking for a handout, and have shown no compunction about trying to force our civilized cultures to conform to their Dark Ages social mores. All Western nations now contain vertitable Fifth Columns within their own borders. Their continued presence is both expensive and dangerous, as the political and religious teachings of Islam are diametrically opposed to those of Western civilization. Is anyone really surprised that a relative few people are peacefully taking to the streets in protest? The truly amazing thing isn't that a handful of people have woken up to the sham of multiculturalism, it's that more haven't.
